Hehe. I hear ya. I used to say that I am only racist against those who practice racism. I like that - I be me. You be you.

The beautiful thing about people is our diversity. Some people define themselves by what they do for a living, how they worship, where they live, what they do for fun, or all of the above. Just because I relate to a group of skydivers doesn't mean I define myself by that group alone. I might also belong to a group of artists or 30-somethings or what have you. It is natural to strive for some type of connection. And being a part of one group doesn't in any way disrespect those in other groups. I am a freeflier, but I have RW friends. I also have whuffo friends. My guess is the person who started the Jewish thread was just looking for a connection with others. Not looking to exclude those who aren't Jewish. Let's not always be so quick to assume the worst.

You get one chance to heal correctly the first time around and the rest of your life to skydive. Why push it? You've already waited this long, what's another 3 months? It's the off season. Watch some vids, do some visualizing and before you know it you'll be back in the air. After I shattered my leg I decided I wouldn't start jumping again until I could jump off a picnic table (not the bench... the table) without favoring one side over the other and run a block without limping or pain. Good luck to you. I know it's frustrating being grounded for a few months, but think how awful it would be to be grounded for life if something goes wrong. Speedy healing my friend.

This comment concerned me too. You may be able to feel your pin behind you, but feeling that your pin is seated correctly won't help you at all if your bridle is misrouted. I totally understand not being comfortable with an unknown person messing with your gear. But as has already been pointed out several times, you could just get another person you trusted to check it afterwards. I have never had someone do an unsolicited gear check on me before. I DO get a gear check before EVERY jump from someone I trust. And if someone asks me if I want them to check my reserve I always say yes (unless I don't trust them - then I have someone else do it). To me that is just playing with fate.... I'd hate to have someone ask if I wanted a gear check, turn it down, and then have a preventable mal on that jump. Anyone checking your gear is probably doing so out of concern for his/her fellow jumper. If they don't have the social tact to ask first, you could always say, "thanks for looking out for me, but in the future please ask first." Fall in dove.

Dumbells are definitely the way to go. I always worked out in a gym until this summer when I didn't have that option. I was worried I'd lose a lot of muscle but the dumbells kept me in tip top shape! I was surprised! As for cardio, I went running or used a stationary bike I had at home. Good thing about the bike is that if you get injured it is great for rehab since it's non-weight bearing. Having been there, that kinda stuff is important to me. Fall in dove.

And the icing on the cake..... Had a kickass show in San Fran this weekend. Love my crew and they love me! :) Even the play-by-play announcer and color analyst came down to the tv truck after the game to tell me I am a keeper! Damn - I forgot how much fun NFL is! Yee-haw! And more icing.... I'm gonna birdman this week! As well as make a buncha other fun jumps. Life is swell.

I have a very visual and very creative mind. Probably think about sex at least, hmmmmmm..... 5 or 6 times an hour. Sometimes just a fleeting thought, sometime really dirty and exciting.
