Like a good neighbor, MY ASS! Fall in dove.

Time to start shopping. I was surprised a few years ago when I was changing insurance and calling tons of places how much the rates varied for exactly the same coverage. Top rate was $600 OVER the lowest rate! That's a huge range! Open your yellow pages and pick up the phone! Fall in dove.

Nathan! Sign up NOW! So when you leave you can get COBRA insurance. Remember, I only had one surgery and spent one night in the hospital and it cost $22,650!!!!!! Do it tomorrow! I am gonna check to make sure you do! Fall in dove.

Tube stow haters are always telling me I'm asking for a bag lock, but I love my tube stows. If they really were that prone to bag lock, they'd be taken off the market.... or I'd at least know someone who had one from them. I double stow my tube stow (I can hear you all groaning) from day one (never had one stretch.) I make sure it is not at all twisted and I don't do long stow bites. Nuttin' but lovely openings. Give em a shot and make up your own mind on em! Fall in dove.

I'll show you my tongue if you show me your shocker! Thanks guys.... it was much easier to get through it all having you guys to laugh at and to support me too.

My HUGE permagrin in freefall. I try to warn people before they jump with me the first time, but they still are never prepared! Fall in dove.

You've heard the expression "the grass is always greener on the other side," right? It often seems like others' lives go along so easily while mine always seems like one huge obstacle/disappointment after the next. But I realized we all have difficult crap in our lives, we just handle it differently. People who meet me think I am always so happy and perky my life must be perfect. I've even heard em say "I wish I could just play in the sky all the time without a care in the world." Not a care in the world? Let me just recap my last year: freefall collision (bruised lung, 2 broken ribs, nerve damage in arm, trauma to stomach, diaphragm and intestines and almost completely severed tongue); 2 weeks later was 9/11; 2 weeks later decided to get a divorce, 6 weeks later moved to a new place where I knew no one and had virtually no work at all; 2 months later shattered leg the day before I was supposed to go to Salt Lake to work the olympics so still no more work; 2 months later dumped by boyfriend by email (ugh - so tacky!); 3 weeks ago cutaway from current miserable job so unemployed again. My point isn't that my life is worse than yours. I have no idea all the details of your life. And despite all the above CRAP I've dealt with, it has been the best year of my life. I've learned so much and grown so much and am so grateful that the first accident didn't kill me, my leg has miraculously had a 100% recovery, I know I can always pitch a tent on a dz and live almost free if I have to, I have more wonderful caring friends than I've ever had in my life! All the shit life throws at you is an opportunity for growth. You just may find yourself in a new home that makes your heart happy that you would have never found had your roomie not booted you. So make the most of it and thank God you have it as good as you do. You do have it good, even if you don't know it!

It's all about THICK! I have a very green thumb too - great at making veggies grow! Your garden or mine, sweetie? Fall in dove.

Absolutely. I am gonna eat you up! Fall in dove.

SOLD! To the little white bird with the big grin! Fall in dove.

39:0:0 39 penalties in the Hurricanes/Lightning game I worked last night. Stayed out late so slept in late. Was gonna get a few jumps in, but after seeing so many weather service warnings during the NFL game (that I would have been covering if I hadn't cutaway - yippee!) looked out the window and saw horrendous storms rolling in. Just a lazy day for me.... kinda nice. Maybe I'll get a few jumps tomorrow - last chance before my surgery! Fall in dove.

I very rarely see skysurfers at any dz I've been to. I used to REALLY want to try it, but then I started freeflying and now I can't imagine having my legs pinned down. I like being able to fly my entire body and being free in the air. The really experienced ones really look like they're having fun though. Fall in dove.

I wish! No point in even emailing her. She only checks it about once every 2 weeks! I'll have to get some digital pics and post em myself. If you are in the D.C. area she has one show in progress now and another staring in 2 weeks. Fall in dove.

Wow.... I can't believe I get to make the same LZ quote twice in one week: "Squeeze my lemon, and let the juice run down my leg." Fall in dove.

My mom! I have her oil paintings all over my apartment. She also does wonderful bronze and stone sculptures. She is so amazingly talented. Mom rocks! Fall in dove.

Composition-wise I think the first one is best. But I like the headdown dude so it's a tough call. They are all nice though! Good job! Fall in dove.

I disagree Bill. We make those jokes among ourselves - not broadcast to mass audiences. In addition it is sort of like the old "I can make fun of my sister but if you do I'll beat the crap out of you" policy. WE can make those jokes because we are skydivers and know the pain of losing loved ones to the sport personally. It is quite different when someone outside the sport makes fun of the loss of lives. At least it is to me. BTW - not quite sure why you chose to pick on me. I didn't say YOU should not drink Red Bull. Just that I don't like them and chose not to support them. But hey, pick away if it makes you happy. Fall in dove.

I feel your pain Amber. Fall in dove.

Thanks for posting that Jim. I was wondering about Martin and hoping he has a speedy recovery. Fall in dove.

Hehe - he said "heavy pants." Dude - take a load off! Fall in dove.

See - I'm not the only phone-sex talker here! Fall in dove.

Yippee! Zhills! 3 planes running full time at that point! Super DUPER otters! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Fall in dove.

Nathan! You came during a swoop meet weekend! I was completely drooling over the amazing swoop action going on! Besides, I've changed a lot since then.... I'm way more fun and laid back. Try me on for size! (I know - that comment is just asking for it!) Fall in dove.

I would check into the companies you all work for. Most of the larger corporations (and even some smaller businesses) have funds earmarked for charity/sponsorship kinda stuff. Worst they can say is no. But I know of a few people who have had success with that. Wear logos on your clothes or helmets. tout their product/service (you SHOULD already be knowledgeable about it since you work there!) and perhaps put some fliers/brochures out at boogies. Just a thought. Good luck. From my experience the last year.... worms are pretty tasty if you saute them in butter and add a little garlic salt! Fall in dove.

Too late! I'm moving back north in April! Fall in dove.
