Oh - I forgot to mention that I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. When I shattered my leg in January it looked AWFUL. So many little pieces! The doc scheduled me for a plate and 7-12 screws as well as a full/partial miniscectomy (removal of "shock absorbers" in your knee). The surgury lasted 4 hours and the surgeon was amazed that it went as well as it did - only 2 HUGE bolts and a bone graft and all of my miniscus was fully intact. Almost impossible with a shattered tibial plateau like mine. He was delighted and bewildered. I had asked so many to pray for me especially just at the time my surgery was scheduled. No doubt in my mind that had something to do with it. Never underestimate... Oh - and just like skygirlpc, my prayers are more like conversations with God. I don't just pray to Him, I share with Him. I like it that way. Fall in dove.

I have always prayed nightly. Not to ask for anything material in my life but to thank God for all I do have, to ask for forgiveness for any wrongdoings, and special prayer for family or friends or those in need. And ever since my freefall collision I say a little prayer on the plane. Just thanking God for the jump and asking for safety, altitude awareness and fun. Just reconnects and centers me before I jump. It was all God when I pulled in unconsciousness 8/26/01. Even though I had a cypres, that's no guarantee and I might not have survived the landing unconscious. So thanks again, God, for that 2nd chance. dove Fall in dove.

OK - so I'm gonna be in San Diego on the weekend of the 27th. I plan to arrive by around 10am so I can play in the sky all day before going to work for the weekend. Anyone plan on being at either dz that Friday? And any recommendations on which I should chose and why? Thanks! dove

Thanks guys. I think I may feel the tiniest inkling of a twitch in the corner of my mouth. They say when it rains it pours. But this is a monsoon. And since I tend to be a very happy person, it just hurts all the worse cause I know what it feels like on the other side. I knew I could count on you all though. Score one for the positive side. Well. I am usually a very upbeat and positive person. But I am SOOOOO down in the dumps right now. I feel so sad inside. Don't ask - it just sucks. So - who knows how to make a dove smile? Fall in dove.

8:11:??? 8 jello shots in about 3 minutes....... tilt-a-girl! 11 fokkin AWESOME jumps! Including a 6-point headdown that rocked the house, and tons of other really cool freefly shit lotsa firsts, including first headdown line (all previous docks were face-offs), first time in a caravan (no big woop), first all-out kick ass carve (only had a few seconds here and there before - this was full speed!!!! Schwing!!!!) And if I haven't already raved enough about Skydive Orange before - it is the best DZ out there BAR NONE! People are top notch, pilots are aces (nice pun!), and the parties are EPIC! I love this DZ so much I am gonna move from my lovely home in Florida just to jump there! Long Live Orange!!!! FABULOUS! dove

Shattered and compressed left tibial plateau on Jan. 28th of this year. 12 weeks completely non-weight bearing. That sucked the big one! Freefall collision last year - 2 broken ribs, bruised lung, nerve damage in arm, almost bit my tongue off (hanging by bottom skin), and trauma to stomach, diaphragm and intestines. Still - not as bad as the broken leg!

1st NFL game (preseason or otherwise) I've ever done in Boston 529 - bugs found in this year's graphics package 1 collective sigh of relief that the Philly Eagles decided to go for the 2-point conversion instead of the extra point... as long as there's no overtime! It was fun - but I'd rather have been skydiving!
