What's funny is that as I read through a lot of what makes others unique, I keep saying to myself "me too!" So much for uniqueness! But we all have our own styles. Me?........ 1. I absolutely ABHOR shopping 2. I think about sex more often than most guys (many of my horniest male friends are astounded by this!) 3. No gag reflex (that's right boys!) 4. Was never able to do the splits my entire life until 2 years ago when I started skydiving and saw a freestyle video and decided I HAD to be able to do that someday. Now can do full splits!!!! 5. Remarkably fast healing powers! 6. VERY clean and neat (can't even take a shower in the morning without making the bed first!) but don't inflict my rules on others 7. Can't stand any cologne or perfume for more than 30 seconds 8. Have a very close friendship with all of my siblings (3 of em) and both parents as well... don't believe in family feuds 9. Graduated college summa cum laude 10. In the course of 2 years have gone from a married-black-and-neutrals-clad-wallflower to a spunky-single-bright-colored-hawaiian-short-shorts-wearing-happy-go-lucky-skydiver!

When I first got my rig, the rigger who put it together said the cypres had a problem turning off so he sent it back to the manufacturer. They said it turned off fine. What they said was instead of doing 4 pushes like you do to turn it on, you have to do 3 quick pushes in a row to start the sequence (instead of one push), wait for the light - 2nd push, wait for the light, 3rd push - wait for the light, final push and unit turns off. Works for me!

Seems to me I've seen lots of pictures of little white birdies riding rhinos....

I was gonna say "Dude, you have some amazing talent!" but that would be quite an understatement. So I'll just say - "WOW!" I too thought many looked like stock photographs. You have enough talent to not only be able to afford the clam chowder, but to have the hot waitress spoon feed it to you too!

Thanks Rob. I always double-wrap my tube stoes (except the locking stoes) and have never had a problem. But people give me crap for it all the time. if I single-wrapped I would get line dump every time. I love tube stoes - they last a long time and don't shred my fingers the way rubber bands do. If they were as lethal as so many insist, they wouldn't still be on the market. To each his own.

Even if you go for the hook knife, you might not have a stable canopy with the line(s) cut so you may have to cutaway anyhow. Why waste altitude?

Probably what they told me: you'll be bored, it'll have no resale value, you'll just hve to buy another one in a few months. Fortunately the people who really cared about me got ahold of me and I went with a 1:1 wing loading. And that canopy was FUN! If you ARE bored (and you won't be!) you can always downsize later. If you find out you are in over your head, you may not get the chance to upsize. You have the rest of your life to skydive. Why rush it?
