I figure when I can run with no pain and jump off a picnic bench then I am ready. I hope soon... but we'll see! I am also getting a more forgiving canopy for awhile just for extra protection. Can't wait! dove

Hey gale. Two weeks is nothing! It will pass so much quicker than you think. Heck - we were grounded that long after Sept. 11! Seriously, get some vids to watch. Fun ones... but maybe also Fly Like A Pro - you'll be a better student when you get back! There are also always back issues of Parachutist and Skydiving at most dz's. Borrow some! Lots of good stuff in there... maybe you'll even get your hands on some of the "Jumping The Ram Air" series. You can also always still go out to the dz and watch and listen to pick up lots of information. Good luck to you! I hope you heal quickly and completely. And like I said before, at least you'll never make that mistake again. 2 more weeks.... and you'll still be back in the air before me and I was broken on January 28! love, dove

Wow. Wow. Wow. I just went to the gym, the bank and the grocery store. All without crutches. And I have NO limp! Zippadeedoodah! I walk slowly so I won't hurt my sweet leg, but I am walking! I love life! I love all you guys! I am free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! freefly dove P.S. Don't worry - I will take all the time required to be healed enough to jump. But I will never take walking for granted again!

Brandon - no disrespect brother, but I am so confused. You are the one who posted that they did indeed tell you there was a new version in the works to be released mid year 2002. I understand your frustration. I found out about the Javelin Odyssey about the same time I received my baby Jav. But once I put that sweet baby on it didnt' matter cause I loved her for who she was! Incidentally, I have since demoed an Odyssey (for the canopy inside) and didn't like the Odyssey at all. You might not like the Safire 2 better than your current canopy! It could happen! Anyhow, cheer up. You have all your limbs working and are jumping right? What could be better?! dove

Wow! I had a wonderful dream! But I was so frustrated that it wasn't true when I woke up.... I dreamt I was at the dropzone and I was asked on a jump and I accepted. It suddenly occurred to me that this was too soon. I barely started walking! But I said well I'll know if I can run and if I can jump off a picnic bench. So I ran and it was AWESOME! I can run!! I jumped off a picnic table - piece of cake! Oh joy! I can jump! I was so elated, so excited, tears of joy ran down my cheeks as I got out my rig and manifested. Then I woke up. I mean it was a happy dream but not jumping has been SOOOOO hard! I have made the best of it for over 3 months now.... but being so close is aggravating at the same time it is exciting! I'm not willing to come back before my leg is absolutely ready so no guarantees when my return will be. But oh it was so wonderful in the dream.... I wanna go back there...... Anyway, thanks for listening to a desperate skydivers ramblings.... love, dove
