Have you ever done a naked Jump?
VisionAir replied to Bolas's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In my experience with my one nekkid jump.... Went out straight into headsdown...member flappage was minimal almost non-existent, BUT....when I rolled into an arch, everything tucked between the legs and I had EXTREME flappage...enough to make me go into sort of a belly first fetal postion...knees together and unarched....I couldn't get open fast enough. Would I do it again?.....Hell Yeah! Sidenote....One Janurary when it was just above freezing, we had a visiting jumper celebrating his 700th jump. He said every"00" has been naked. He decides to do a naked hop and pop... from 9.5k... and with student gear no less. This guy maybe weighed 170 and was under a 250ish canopy for somewhere around 10 min in freezinig temps. Crazy I tell ya....thats just CRAZY Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M. -
Somewhere I read about a ghetto fix for the SoBig email virus..... Supposedly it is programmed to stop spreading on Sept 10 or 20 (not sure) and if you simply change your system calendar to beyond that date it fools the virus. It's seemed to work for me so far, as I haven't received an email in about an hour now. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.

Naming yourself...or rather - your business!
VisionAir replied to pyke's topic in Photography and Video
About the only thing I can think of that's anywhere close to it would be Aerial Focus, the company of Tom Sanders. Kinda close to my "company name"....VisionAir Productions...but not close enough to concern me. Turns out after I thought up mine all on my own there actually is a company called VisionAir but it has something to do with communications...ahhhh well. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! This sounds like the Lovsan worm that enters thru the open port 135, and not the SoBig virus that is email based. http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=helpCenter&hcName=lovsan http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=helpCenter&hcName=sobig Yay...I finally figured out clickies What I want to know now is... the hits on my firewall blocked port 135 have finally slowed down but now I'm getting "pinged" numerous times an hour. Any insight on this? Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.

Didn't get near the sleep I had planned...but... Did have a fantastic time for the fifth year in a row. Didn't meet a single dz.commer unless you were at the campfire listening to Rock & Roll Rob late nights...but... Did talk to quite a few that probably are and the topic never came up. Didn't get much video after my helmet logged 20 sec more freefall then myself...but... Did get one helluva video of ground rush (at least I hope, if Cajones can fix the tape. My Protrack clocked it hitting the ground at 72mph) Didn't do near as many jumps as I had planned (9)...but... Did get to log a DC-3. Didn't get myself a bottle of Yukon Jack like I had planned to do...but... Did drink enough beer that it Didn't matter. Did feed the couch fire...but... Didn't get burnt. Did meet the mayor's wife...but... Didn't join in the group of my friends that she was trying to talk in to streaking around the mayor's golf-cart. Did introduce the mayor's wife to Lenny...but... Didn't have anything to do with him dropping trou in front of her. Did set up the idea of Lenny steaking around the fire...but... Didn't/Wouldn't drive him myself. (Thank you Kenny for the use of your golf cart and your outstanding driving skills) Didn't see quite the turn out I had expected...but... Did have TOOO MUUUUCH FUUUUN! Won't be back next year due to family vacation...but... Will want to hear aaaall about it. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.

Your fate has been decided.... You are one of the lucky ones! Because of your virtue and beliefs, you have escaped eternal punishment. You are sent to the First Level of Hell - Limbo! First Level of Hell - Limbo Damn it....Why can't I excel on at least something. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment. You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell. These are the virtuous pagans, the great philosophers and authors, unbaptised children, and others unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven. You share company with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and Aristotle. There is no punishment here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad. ----------------------------------------------------------- If Homer is here there's gotta be free beer Doh!!! Huh?!? Well it seems I put the cart before the horse in the matter of replacing my helmet and cameras. My conscience got the better of me and I cancelled my insurance claim for ummmmm "running over it". I can't risk a class d felony over a $3k helmet. Sooooo it looks like I'm gonna get to practice up my freeflying skills until I can pay off some credit cards to afford replacements. Damn conscience...it always seems to get in my way. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.

Thank you Chachi, I was almost talked into the 19 but am opting for the 22 now. The picture effects I'm used to from my old 20 are a go/no go decision for me, as are the a/v IN ports. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.

Thank you Corcho, the quotes you refer to explain it better. I searched the thread for trv references during my research but hadn't come upon that post. (until now) The reasoning for my low light concerns is for the low light situations such as in the hanger or office, or in the plane on cloudy days, but I suppose those aren't that important of shots. Does the trv22? Theres been times I've had to record analog signals from older camera's.( Nevermind...answered my own ?) The recurring suggestion I read is to buy what makes me happy, and I will plan to do that, but I just like to have several opinions to base my own on. Once again....thank you for your time. Huh?!? Ok I've been reseraching this for a while now and have succeded in only giving myself a headache. I found a site (www.camcorderinfo.com) with good reviews. I had myself convinced into getting the 22 versus the 33 due to the larger ccd giving slightly better low light performance even tho the 33 scored better (tho only slightly) on regular video performance. After a visit to Circuit City and getting some hands on I start to think why not go with the 19 if it's only difference from the 22 is that the nightshot isn't "Super", the v/f is b&w, and there's no memory stick. Then I notice the 38 and I like the feel and shape of it plus it has a few easier accesible manual controls and a larger screen, but thats not to important for my use. So I'm finally convinced in the 22 again and I figured I'd take a look and see how it compared to my old 20. Now I just don't know anymore. Where as the old 20 and new 22 both have the 1/4 ccd, my old 20 has 690,000 effective video pixels, over twice what the new 22 has of only 340,000 effective video pixels. In order to get the same quality I have to bump back up to the 33 but sacrifice ccd size and low light ability. I use to complain of the low light shots with my old 20 which has the same size ccd as the 22 of which they say does a good job, and now I have to go even smaller to get the same effective video resolution. Do you think they improved low light performance on the ccds so that you can get better performance out of the 22 and maybe even the smaller 33 versus the old 20. And at what point of effective resolution does this "bandwith" limitation come into play? Do you think the 22 with half as many effective video pixels will perform as good as my old 20?. To quote Vinnie Barbarino......I'MMMM SOOOOO CONFUUUUSED Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.

Another idea that I use which is more accurate then the buddy system, but can't be checked on the way to the plane is to use a long A/V wire (made with using 2 wires and a female/female connector) to plug into the tv while wearing the helmet. I then pick a spot and view it right on the tv by just shifting my eyes. Stand the same distance to the spot as you plan to be flying from your subject. You can fine tune it by zooming in on the spot. Also know that when your closer to your subject then planned you will need to look slightly lower and when farther away then planned you will need to look slightly higher. At least that's what I've experienced. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.

BH Flattop Narrow & TRV DBOX - how to align?
VisionAir replied to skydog37's topic in Photography and Video
With geometry and a protactor you should be able to find a center point and then a center line...I would think. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M. -
I'm looking into replacing my now busted trv20, and I've read Quade's review of his trv22, but I'm curious if anyone has any info on the trv70. I'd like to know if the following is worth the $600 increase. The trv70 has 30 more lines of horz. res. and 1,430,000 MORE pixels then the trv22. Plus, if I'm reading Sony's comparison chart correct, there's no fire wire port on the trv22. How about the trv 33 38 or 39? Any info or words of wisdom will be appreciated. Huh?!? What cloud?!?
