    This is true, but the drag that the crossbraces are counteracting is caused by overloading a standard construction canopy. Meaning that crossbraces don't do much at low loadings. -We are the Swoophaters. We have travelled back in time to hate on your swoops.-

    What you really need to ask yourself is "How long will this 120 make me happy? Am I going to want to downsize again in 100 jumps?" If you even have the slightest inclination to answer yes, then you need to step back and ask yourself what you want to be doing in ten years. I say this because if you head down that road, in ten years you may not be doing much. Believe that I know this from personal experience. If you do this, it is not if you get hurt, but when.     There is no better canopy to learn how to swoop than the one you already know how to fly. Downsizing or changing planform will only make it harder and more dangerous to learn. Use what you have now and once you have you have mastered all the basics of swooping, then a small downsize will be in order. -We are the Swoophaters.     It's not in your head, your awareness is increasing. The canopy will fly a little better with the chest strap undone, although I'm not sure if it improves flare. And as far as harness turns, it's another tool you now have that you can use to change heading with minimal effect on the other flight aspects. Nice!! -We are the Swoophaters.     I don't know why the brake lines come sewn sometimes, because they are always set too short. My guess would be that they want the canopy to fly as conservatively as possible. But I sure wish they would at least give you the option of lengthening. -We are the Swoophaters. We have travelled back in time to hate on your swoops.-

    Just because a reline was done does not really guarantee that everything is fine. Do you know who did the reline? Next time you have the canopy laid out and are about to pack it, get some help and make sure all the lines on the right side of the canopy are the same length as the corresponding lines on the left side. This will allow you to rule out any trim issues. And also, with 50 or so jumps, you still may be doing things that you are not aware of. With more time, the slide may just go away on its own. I used to think my new canopies had built in turns, but then they just went away mysteriously. Peace. -We are the Swoophaters. We have travelled back in time to hate on your swoops.-

    This is one double mal in every 25000 jumps made, not by an individual, but by all jumpers. You could have a million jumps and all the mals could be happening to someone else. -We are the Swoophaters. We have travelled back in time to hate on your swoops.-

    I totally agree with this. Every canopy has a top speed, and it is reached at the bottom of the dive. If you did your turn correctly, you will reach this speed regardless of whether you started in brakes or not. -We are the Swoophaters. We have travelled back in time to hate on your swoops.-

    Have you ever seen an old picture of an accuracy canopy with cells you could park a van in and said "daaaaamn!!!! that's one obnoxious biaatch!" Well that is pretty much what we are talking about here. You really want to keep that nose closed up tight.
