If I suffered from self hatred I would have become a divorce lawyer, not an educator. Meh. No self-loathing here. I like money and winning. That's why I do what I do, which I do quite well...

I'd like it to be moderated so that people can't do what I did (moderator turd, Demo turd, Repturds) when it is obviously directed right at the person that posted. I like it to be free willing but most of the time it just gets out of hand and subjects that would be interesting to follow on become just a commenting turd attack. You're just crabby because you don't have a Mooney. And you're part of the 1% because you do own one. Self-hatred of one's socioeconomic group--creepy. I would have thought an attorney would have a better grasp on who the 1% are and what constitutes their inclusion or exclusion into or out of that group. A college professor who owns a Mooney and a cute little vintage English sports car does NOT fit into those lofty heights when measuring actual wealth. But it is funny to watch you and CanuckinCanukistan try to bludgeon anyone who has the audacity to disagree with your pet beliefs. Until he disproves, clues left around like being the Dean/Chair of a department at a Private University, while owning vintage autos and personal aircraft, It would seem to shift the burden to the Professor to document he is NOT part of the 1%. Jealous much??? That is sounding a lot like class warfare Not really, I do quite well for a person of my age and educational background. Not saying I am in the 1%, but I am firmly in the 53%, and damned proud of it. Perhaps in a few years, I can get to approach the $500,000-ish line of entering the 1%, but that'll take time and hard work.

Not sure how we could figure that out, but I do think you're wrong. She'd likely go up for manslaughter, unless she shot him in the act of beating her. But still--one less asshole.
-
Too bad she didn't have access to dad's firearms. One less asshole in the world--judge or not.

Nope, incorrect. If the mortgage industry is properly regulated it automatically applies to borrowers too. Foreclosures have always been with us, but we didn't have a meltdown until AFTER the financial services industry was deregulated. Why do you purport to know how to "properly" regulate the mortgage industry? You do not have any credentials to speak with any authority on economics.

Schizophrenic gun owner goes on killing spree

I'll gladly admit it may be considered a PA, but under your definition: What provoked my post was clearly trolling. Where's Amazon's warning? Or does she have "the immunity idol?" A lawyer, of all people, ought to know the "two wrongs makes a right defense" is pretty useless. Not making that argument. I'll gladly take my warning, if She's also the recipient of one for trolling. Short of that, it's a double standard. -

Since guns are a relatively recent human invention, it is hard to claim that gun ownership is an inherent human right. No, but self defense (and access to the tools therof) is.

Goddamned right. I note the use of the word “protect.” Which is EXACTLY correct. There are people like us out there who would rather “protect” people than attack them. I’m glad you recognize it. Yep. So long as they have never been deemed a threat (which did not happen in this case because the shooter had been committed) then you are correct. I WILL defend and protect people – even ones that you or I do not particularly like because they have rights, too. Actually, I further appreciate the rights of the mentally ill under the First Amendment, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth. You name it! I tend to hold all of these rights with equal dignity. Sure, it means you can’t permanently incarcerate mentally ill in “hospitals” though they have been treated and are not threats because they have, oh, habeas corpus and other stuff like that. The Constitution is a real pain in the ass for those who have a grand vision of a society where the undesirables are eliminated and/or sequestered to where they can do no harm. So before taking those guns, I’d think that the Fourth Amendment would be a good place to start. Or keeping a person locked up and doped up would be something to consider not doing under the Eighth Amendment. And that Second Amendment thingy is JUST AS IMPORTANT as the other rights. It’s not me, or kelpdiver, or DesertAttorney who find rights unimportant. It is us who find rights to be important and important for everybody. Even criminals. Even the mentally ill. Even terrorists. They have rights, too, and rights are immune from attacks based on social stigma. These rights protect you, too, Jeanne. I fully support you or Desert Attorney ... to make a killing off of "protecting" nutters rights to keep and bear arms Again, you twat, I do Divorce Law, not Criminal or Mental Health Law. Stop projecting your wrath where it does not belong. -
I would think that with the policies you and other right wingers here espouse.. you support neo-conservatism/neo-fascism as a far better solution to the worlds problems. Versus rabid Socialism that rewards sloth and inactivity at the expense of those who work hard and make responsible decisions? I'll happily take my chances in the NeoCon rat race--it pays much better. Uh huh.. until nothing works but armed revolt by the masses... to "refresh the tree of liberty with blood"... good luck with that. ...and you've clearly read Fight Club one too many times...

AETC...the academic paragon of the Defense Dept...*snicker* You would be imagining incorrectly. I have an International Politics degree, along with an MBA and a JD. I didn't need an MTI telling me to read them. I did so in College, enduring/trying to understand the mindset of an openly Marxist professor, and in doing so I saw how bankrupt Marxism and Socialism in all their permutations truly are... Well Hello Mr Fancypants So basically you show disdain for the military.. color me SOOOOOO not surprised.. it seems to be the REAL feeling those of your ilk really have. Disdain? No. I served. I endured/survived the pedantic droning of AETC Zombies who thought that reading from PowerPoint slides made them Demigods. I was simply sinckering at you listing AETC on your CV, as if being required to read two (bad) books made you some Subject Matter Expert... It was required so we could teach good little college boys to not shit themselves if they got captured by the evil commies. And I was there a LONG time before Powerpoint was even a wet dream in what would become Bills company... in fact at that time.. there was no such thing as a "personal computer" It was a time when the NVA had quite a few of our college boys in captivity. and some of them were dying because of lack of training in resistance ( the R in SERE that Jerry was missing).. and American servicemen were fighting and dying every day. I spent a 8 years teaching...so I guess your ass umption is off the mark yet again I'd respond, but This has absolutely fuck-all to do with your knowledge of how modern economics. It's about you reading two bad books whilst being a SERE instructor, which has fuck-all to do with the Original Topic...

Non-sequitor. The 47% pays no tax--they didn't pay their damned admission price to the debate. In the election, we all voted--there was no "admission" price other than to be a non-disenfranchised citizen who exercised their vote. You don't pay into the system, you don't deserve a voice into how it is operated.

Yeah.. the rest of those people are not reeeeeeally Americans.. and deserve no rights They have the right to become part of the 53%, just like those already in the 53%.

Tsk tsk tsk Nope... just a reminder to those who are a tad short on remembering history..... could be quite doomed to repeat it. I think I found video footage of Amazon posting on DZ.com: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbcctWbC8Q0 Aww how cute... a PA from an attorney... how refreshing A PA? Nah. An observation of/commentary on your unmitigated wrath at those who would dare disagree with you? Yes. Did you know that Wisconsin makes some great cheeses to go along with all that California's best? Not whining. Moreso morbid bemusement at your wrath.
