  1. Why don't you email him instead of posting all that?
  2. That was also what i thought. They are probably trying to create a market to get some market share (back).
  3. Well there is also the Onyx 36 cell from Atair. where could that one be placed on the time-line? Between the VX, Velocity etc. and the Z-brace, JSX. In the end they are all inspired by paragliders I guess.
  4. ----------------------------------------------------------- I think this is totally irrelevant. I really don’t care if the designer/producer/etc. has 0 or 10,000 skydives. It is just an engineering project with certain parameters/variables. Maybe a non skydiver can approach this project without the sentiments of a skydiver (more open minded). Do you think all the people who sew harnesses and canopies skydive?! It is not that special.
  5. Is there someone who can help me to find the Stiletto 120 line trim chart? Help would be appreciated. Cheers
  6. Any news from poeple who flew it? Cheers
  7. Does anybody have any ideas on if and how valves/covers can affect the onheading performance of a vented canopy. For instance, when the covers are not aligned the same way over the span of the canopy when packing. Theoretically this could lead to uneven restriction of the airflow over the span of the canopy? Cheers
  8. My buddy and I both have one and like it a lot. I will continue to jump it as long as the manufacturer considers it safe. I don’t take all the ‘facts’ of the people who post in this forum to serious. If you want to know anything specific, just let me know. Cheers
  9. Does your employer know about your BASE career?
  10. Also: On the BR tailpocket de attachment point for de rubber band for the central stow is placed further away (up) from the opening of the tailpocket. So the bulk of the stow is concentrated more up making the opening of the tailpocket much cleaner. I don’t know where this attachment point is placed on the Ace but on the Troll it is right on the trailing edge. Faber: Note that we’ve seen this problem only on slider up jumps.
  11. We’ve noticed the abrasion on the lines of two Trolls and one Ace. A friend of us with a Fox (without the fifth steering line) who basically packs the same has no troubles. Is it normal to see after an opening that the male and female part of the bottom velcro closing flaps of the tailpocket have moved relative to each other? Because this is basically telling that the bottom flaps of the tailpocket have opened more or less during the opening sequence. I’ve noticed this quite a few times on my canopy. We already tried varying the size of the stows (start with large eights putting progressively smaller ones on top of that) and we also tried positioning the eights slightly offset to each other in the tailpocket. So far without much better results.
  12. Any suggestions on how to put the lines in the tailpocket in a good way? We’ve found what looks like some light burn- and fray marks on some of the lines. they appear mostly on steering and D-lines. Could this have something to do with the lines being the black Dacron type? Because these seem to be slightly thicker and less flexible than the ‘normal’ white ones. Our canopies also have the fifth brake line (more bulk) We’ve only found this after terminal/near terminal slider up jumps. Cheers
  13. Yeah but you are impressed by who ever sponsors you. Pretty obvious since you switch from Atair to PD.
  14. --------- My last jump was off-heading veering to the left and thinking back I'm pretty sure most, if not all, of them have been in that direction. --------- A friend of mine has a brand new Ace which opened consistently to the left on sub-terminal slider up jumps. We still have not figured out what the problem is. He is using a two pin rig and don't uses any form of slider control. Cheers
  15. I am not asking for help on slider down openings! That was just me responding to a question of someone who wants to help. I asked if someone knows the trim specifications for the Raven 3. So I think I posted at the right place.
  16. What happens is hard to describe. Slider down the pressurization is very strange. Sometimes the canopy seems to collapse partially during the opening, and it pressurizes strange. This could be the result of pulling the toggles early during/after the deployment. But we didn't see this in earlier jumps. Slider up we saw a very strange opening where the canopy would slowly turn 180 degrees. The nose of the canopy also looked not fully inflated. Not the kind of openings we are used to in the 100 jumps each of us made with our raven.
  17. We are using (super) Raven 3's as canopy's for base jumping. They al have an unknown skydiving history. One friend of mine has had some abnormal openings lately so we want to check if its still in trim. Could someone please provide us with the trim specifications for this canopy? Yes, I contacted precision but not much help from them for now. They suggested checking the trim of the 'bad'-canopy against the others. Sure, thats one way. But I think some exact data would be helpful here. Cheers, Andy
  18. What would you do if you had an broken steering line upon deployment? Land with rear risers or go for the reserve. Please add what type of canopy you are flying and wingload. cheers
