Hate to be in the minority on this one, but I can sympathize with the cops here. One thing I learned when I was young was that you don't run from the cops, cause if you do, and they catch you, you're gonna get the shit kicked out of you. If the only thing that could go wrong if you get caught running is maybe a few additional charges, then there's not much motivation not to run. Furthermore, if you are running from the cops, you're guilty. Innocent people don't run from the cops on the street. I'm not saying what they did was right, but I would have a real hard time saying they should be severely punished. If you're a piece of shit thief and you run from the police, you just might get your face bashed in. I don't really have a problem with that.

Victory for Western Values, and the Limits of Tolerance

You need Jesus to show some humanity (or is it already your job to do this)? That's messed up. Firing offense, too. And what's even more fucked up is that once he gets to the hospital, fuck him, if he doesn't have insurance. LOL Jesus says you need to help him get there, but fuck him if he can't pay for it. -

perhaps you should do a little research before you spout out something like that. perhaps you should do the same. Thanks for proving my point though. -

+1 - practice your religious beliefs inside your own home, or place of worship, or wherever it does not infringe on others in any way. Yeah its far more important to practice your religion at the voting booth Well unless you can make the US a dictatorship, you are stuck that way. BUt we know you and yours would be fine with a religious dictatorship... you almost got there in 2001... too bad...it did not work out for you...Pretty good it worked out for the country that it did not happen after all even if he was getting all his ques from GOD... or at least that is what he kept tellin us. Why do you stick up for the muslims and slam the christians? They're all fucked in the head. Most christians don't even realize that they worship the same god. -
Another Court Rules Obama Care Unconstitutional

So, in other words you want to make it as easy as possible for the health insurers to fuck people over. Simply a horrible idea. Free market solutions can not be applied to health care insurance, because, as I have already stated, the profit motive is at odds with moral obligations. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ezra-klein/2010/02/selling_insurance_across_state.html -

doughboyshred replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Well, at least we agree on something. I think the solution is a non profit insurance program administered by (or overseen) by the federal government, along with a program for oversight of for profit insurance companies that will curtail their ability to fuck over their customers without redress. -

Do you know who gave us, this current system, of Employment Based Health Insurance? That's not necessarily the problem. The main problem with our health care system is that insurance companies have to deny coverage to increase profitability, and that there is little to nothing that the consumer can do to fight them when that coverage is denied. Often times the denial of coverage leads to bankruptcies, and a lower quality of care, which in some cases results in earlier death, and in many cases results in substandard care. There are many good arguments for there being a profit motive in providing health care. There are no good arguments for there being a profit motive in providing health care insurance. -
It just breaks my heart to know that some who live within our borders and enjoy our way of life desire to destroy everything that America stands for because they think they are smarter than our founders, pioneers and patriots. When I became a sport parachutist the group was dominated by proud, spirited Americans. Now it seems that many are simply self-centered wussies. They are rebellious and think the government owes them everything they desire. How dare you suggest that someones position on gay rights make them less of an American than you? Or that fighting for equality and freedom is an attempt to destroy our way of life. You make me sick. You hide behind your supposed spiritual enlightenment, while it's nothing more than another way for you to make yourself feel superior to others. Shame on you. btw, that's not a personal attack, his opinions really do twist my gut up and make me ill.

The opening of the door scares the shit out of me. Only 23 jumps though. For some reason I feel like I'm gonna get sucked out of the plane. LOL. Ridiculous I know. -

So if the Obama admin is law abiding the law no longer is in force until decided by the SC So does that mean my health insurance provider is going to lower my rates back to the levels they were at before they raised them, supposedly due to the new mandates? Ha. If anyone believes that health insurance rates are going to drop, regardless of what happens with HCR they're on drugs. I don't like the mandate to purchase insurance, it doesn't seem right to me, that the fed government should be able to order a free citizen to purchase something that they don't want to. However, as is shown repeatedly (recent article about guy that didn't pay his share of fire protection, but still expected help from fire department) people expect help when they are in need, regardless of whether they have paid in to the fund. Nobody expects to get cancer, and a lot of people will gamble to avoid paying hundreds of dollars a month for health insurance. But, when it comes right down to it, and they need help, they sure as fuck are going to ask for it. I don't care how free market minded you are, if you don't have health insurance and you are dying you are going to ask for help. Furthermore, morally, we are obligated to give that help. Whether your morals are derived from god, or not. -
Can't believe this thread is still moving on. Passive aggressiveness will do you no good in life. This is a textbook case of that. If you had a problem with your instructor the first thing you should have done is communicate your problems with your instructor. Instead you ignored him, complained to the DZ, and then came here to bitch about it. You're not going to mesh with every instructor, or every jumper for that matter. You can either deal with it, or you can complain about it. You'll get further in life, if you deal more and complain less. I'm sure the same goes for this sport.

Honestly, we should work on eliminating EMTALA. I don't think that is likely to happen but it is a horrible law. My jaw just dropped. Seriously. -
This happens all too often. There should be some sort of retribution for the officers that obtain false statements and then run with them. In many instances a little bit of common sense shows that the statements are false, but the cops and the prosecutors don't give a fuck. This is also another example of why the death penalty should probably not be used. We just can't be 100% sure that we are only executing the guilty.

I don't like the way the bpas handled it, but the guy was being a douche. All he had to do was unroll the window a reasonable amount at the first area and all would have been good. Instead he instigated a confrontation for the cameras.

Should Kasich be forced to hire minorities?

he should hire them, but he shouldn't be forced to. At least this way the people can see his true colors and he will not be re elected. -

I find it funny how the rallying cry for conservatives is democracy and freedom. Unless that democracy and freedom results in a government they don't like then they would rather support a dictator. Clarification: I do not support islamic states in any way whatsoever. -

Bing has much better resolution than yahoo and google.

pedophilia refers to 13 and under. Calling someone a pedophile for posting pics of a teenager is pretty freaking harsh. Miss USA is 17, btw. -
Personally, or on the interwebz? On the interwebz, regularly. I try and give them the benefit of the doubt. Personally, about 3 years ago, when an ex employee and his roommate assaulted me. The cops handled it great. Actually, they were too reserved imo. When the old employee swung a bat at the dog I thought they should have capped his sorry ass. Instead they just ripped the plugs out of his ears. Hell, he actually assaulted an officer and they didn't so much as taser him. They just used good old fashioned ass kicking. There was no need to kill this guy. The problem is that with the drug war there is a sentiment that drug users are lesser people, and if they die, oh well.

Now why would anyone think you despised law enforcement? Oh yeah: Comments like that might have something to do with it. Where in the fuck did I say that? Let me save you the trouble. I didn't.
