  1. I feel your pain, takes me a good 2+ hours to drive to Bedford - outrageous
  2. And a bit more of that article that makes it look not nearly as bad as the first quote.
  3. Where in london will you be? It's a pretty big place There are a whole bunch of parks scattered around which you could use if convenient or the river banks. I tend to either go along the river, the canals or to Grenwich park, most other parks are a bit of a stretch to get to from work.
  4. Looks like that has been updated a bit
  5. Why is the video on that site filmed in bedford?
  6. BPA don't require a seal but do say that if done it must be done in a specific way that cannot impede the pin. I can't say that I've ever seen a foreign seal removed however. We cannot pack our own reserves but there is a qualification of Advanced Packer who is allowed to pack reserves as well as the full Rigger qualification
  7. What they said was Do you think that the UV damage will occur before wear damage requires replacement?
  8. Paul said recently that bedfords 4000hp was enough to do about an 18 foot diameter tunnel.
  9. No, it doesn't. http://www.skyventure.com/tunnellocations/default.aspx Its listed under SkyVenture Fort Bragg. BTW, I said *almost* 17 feet. It is 16.8 feet in diameter - which as of right now, will make it the largest wind tunnel in the world. That was where I quoted the size from - I guess they updated it. Unless Tim D'Annunzio is opening more than 1 tunnel as I checked the name to be sure
  10. You could get a demo 149, put a number of jumps on it so you can see the difference and then have a demo on a 139. Not the best time of year to get a demo and put jumps on it in the UK but youmight get lucky - it's not like there is any rush at the moment. On the basis of your profile seems like a sensible progression.
  11. its almost 17 feet in diameter. Draw that out and take a look at it - jesus thats huge. 8way is most certainly not a problem. Where did you see that? SV website says
  12. I think the Langar price includes a jumpsuit, alti, helmet and a few other bits and bobs as well which makes the price difference less. Plane flights to the US west coast are about £350 min at the mo plus car rental, accom etc etc.
  13. I asked a PD rep this a couple of weeks ago and also how to tell if the lines were getting worn. He said that the info would be put on the pd website shortly - just had a look and couldn't see anything. IIRC it was around 500 jumps
  14. Agree with that one. Had my 107 relined in Feb after ~450 jumps. Openings completely different, slower more predictable. Very snivelly now, with Spectra they weren't particularly so. Much more on heading, before I'd usually have off headings now mostly on heading.
  15. So what you are saying is you want a 16.2 foot, circular walled, recirculating tunnel? See ya soon
  16. I had a play with the teams scores so far, both averages and best rounds. It's all to play for. See ya tomorrow
  17. got me at first but swiss-if you didn't get the email I'll send it to you, some other info in there
  18. Did you guys get the email from Willie? I love the part about how they'll call it on 4 rounds if need be to get the drinking in! 19. But the teams in Rookie that are scoring well are new. JCB from our dropzone consists of a bunch of 100 jump jumpers (less when they started) with a player coach. tunnel training allows them to fly and score well, 10+ in the 1 comp they've done. Whats the point of going and flying complicated blocks before you can fly the randoms well? What are the teams that start the year out in rookie, get better throughout the year and start scoring 10+. Throw their season away and 'compete' in a higher class that they haven't trained for? These 10+ teams will be stepping up next year and improving the competition at the higher levels next year.
  20. Their score in the first comp of the year was 10.8 so not outrageous (I think that had a really bad camera NJ 6 pts of so in round 1) I'd guess they just picked a class that was acceptable to them at the start of the year and then with the tunnels available to them have progressed. One thing that I don't get when looking at the NSL scores is why teams enter higher classifications and then score 4s or 5s - would they not be better entering a lower classification and learning more from the simpler dives?
  21. Hib is generally only having the 1 G92 at the moment, the others are at Sibson and Weston. They'll have 2 in a few weeks time when they run the 28 way comp.
  22. The flight line check should be a back up to checking yourself out, I no way relied upon someone else. If someone catches you at a flight line check with a problem then you should worry that you are not doing so for youself. A couple of years ago I caught a very experienced jumper with a miss routed 3 ring. Last year I caught myself with a (differently) misrouted 3 ring. The best thing that I can say about it was that I caught it myself - it should never have happened - but before you offer yourself for checking you should have checked yourself.
  23. Paul at bodyfight was saying yesterday that noone has gone in naked yet and he's open to offers....
  24. I've seen a few people with 100+ jumps start again over the last few years. Generally just a bit of a retrain, possibly a jump with an instructor. It was said that with over 100 jumps you don't really forget. No real need to go abroad just for recurrency though. Might also be worth you going to one of the wind tunnels. Will give you a chance to remember the feeling of freefall and dispel some worries you might have. Nice time of year to get back into it as well

    Runners...

Between 4 and 10 miles regularly. Currently trying to keep at 28 mpw in 3 or 4 runs with various ways or combining the milage. Was upping longer runs when training to be rejected by FLM again:-(
