So who all is heading down from Atlanta area on Wednesday and when? I have a ride but I am sure if they could head down earlier they would be happy. So I figured I would see if anyone is heading down in the afternoon. Also, I will have a massage table (having it shipped so no worries about trying to fit it in a car) there so if anyone needs any kinks worked out while there let me know. I also call bullshit on going from a size 12 to a size 4 with only 20 pound weight loss. On an other note: Before I even say anything, I am no way associated with this company, I am just stating my opinion about people crying pyramid scheme every time some one gets paid on referring paying customers. Everything in the world is a pyramid, look at any corporation, the person at the top makes the most and the person at the bottom makes the least. Each manager in the pyramid has a team of people beneath them. People at the top get bonuses and the people at the bottom either don't bonuses or get a lot smaller ones. Just because someone is getting paid through network or direct marketing does not make it a scheme. What is wrong with getting paid for referring a paying customer? They are saving advertising money by using word of mouth advertising so why shouldn't they give some of that to the person that referred them. Don't get me wrong there are several schemes and scams out there but just because it is network or direct marketing doesn't make it a scheme. Think Avon, Mary Kay, Tupperware, etc., all valid long standing companies that are not schemes and use network or direct marketing approach. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

I say bring her to the vet first and find out whats wrong with her/him. You are discussing something and causing emotional turmoil with your wife (and possiblly your children) over a very hypothetical situation and worst case senario. It could be something very simple and not cost much money at all, at the same time it could be something very expensive. Until you know for sure you are spending/wasting a lot of time and energy discussing/arguing with your wife about it. What if you put her/him down and get a new cat and that one has health issues are you just going to put that one down as well? Plus just because she/he has an issue now is not necessarily an indicator of future health issues. Seems to me like you are only looking at the glass as half empty and not even considering it to be half full. I didn't vote in your poll because you don't have the answer I would choose: bring her/him to the vet, find out whats wrong and what it will take to fix her/him, then discuss the options and which path to take. Sory for your friend's loss and for the way her kids are behaving. It is unbelievable how some people act. I have a friend that is paralized from the waist down and a few months before her mom passed (unexpectedly) she had co-signed on a loan so my friend could get a car with hand controls. Well apparently they had insurance on the loan so when she passed the loan was paid off/discharged. Well, some of her lovely siblings (some natural and some adopted) wanted to take her car (a used cavalier) and sell it and split the money amongst them and then donate their mom's car (an older honda or toyota or something similar) to a needy person. The judge pretty much laughed at them and said no way in hell. On top of that some of them, when they knew my friend wasn't home would come over to the house and search for various items. They even had a physical or nearly physical altercation at one point. It is ridiculous how people behave when it comes to money and stuff "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

In some states there are laws in regards to items being marked one price and ringing up higher. In Connecticut, if I remember correctly, if an item rings up higher than mark by law you are supposed to get that item free. So check the laws in your state and see what they say. Generally when I have made shots with soda I heat it but don't let it boil. For instance, I have made 7&7 jello shots and I used 7-up, Seagrams 7 and lemon jello. I heat the 7-up just enough to so the jello will dissolve. And I use 1 cup of the soda and 1 cup of Seagrams 7. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

FYI for those without insurance or even those with insurance

That is what most people do, I would think anyway. But in the case of a more serious injury I don't think that would work. I was letting people know more for the case of a major injury (that would not be so easily explained with a typical injury) and for the ones that don't have regular health insurance. Also, the quote I got from the agent was a lot less than what I pay a month for the insurance I get through work, and it is better than having nothing. d_squared - Not in Arizona they don't, but I don't know if different states have different regulations. But the agent I talked to said it didn't matter if you even had regular health insurance, you could still get aflac insurance. tetra316 - I would check your insurance, nearly all health insurance (employer provided or not) does not include skydiving or any other extreme sports type of activity. Any injuries related to that will most likely be denied. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity" -

I was talking with an AFLAC agent the other day and he said that as of the beginning of this month skydiving is covered on their policies. It is supplemental insurance but you do not need to have regular insurance to get it. It won't cover as much as regular insurance but at least it is better than having nothing. They have several different policies for different things. If anyone is in Arizona and is interested in finding out more I can refer you to the agent I spoke with, not sure if he can giv coverage to people in other states or not. But there are several agents in each state I am sure. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity" -
Cowboy Mouth. No one I ever meets seems to have heard of them, but once they go to a concert with me they usually become fans. Only ever met one other that knew of them and they have been around for well over 12 years and tour around the country. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

I met a lady once that is paralized from the waist down that ended up breaking her femur during sex and didn't (obviously) feel it and didn't realize it until later when it started to swell up. Talk about rough sex. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

Trying to trackdown an old friend!!! Can you help?
Chiquita replied to herrflik's topic in Introductions and Greets
You could always try to email some of the dropzones in those states and ask if they know of him. You should be able to find email addressed either on here or from www.uspa.org. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity" -
I know this is going to sound crazy, but take as warm (not hot) of a shower as you can. It opens the pores and lets the heat out, and it only hurts for a few seconds and then actually feels pretty good. Well, it did the last time I got sun burned which was several years ago after which I learned my lesson. I also use vitamin e (I use the capsules and cut them open). The last time I got sunburned I did both of those and the next day I had little to no sunburn. Here's a website with some other suggestions for sunburns "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

Deep tissue and connective tissue massage are not the same thing. A deep tissue massage works deep into the muscles and a connective tissue massage works more with the connective tissue such as tendons and ligaments. I had a combination massage once from a guy that did all kinds of different techniques (deep tissue, myotherapy, connective tissue, etc.) and I would say the connective tissue definitely hurt more than the rest, but when it was too much he backed off. To me a good therapist would have backed off a bit if it was too much, especially if you were flipping him off because of the pain. Sometimes you do have to push through the pain to get to the healing but there is no need to kill someone either. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

Isn't amazing when you meet people like that!!! I meet people all the time that inspire me! There are so many amazing people in this world, it is a shame most people don't even realize they are there. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

I personally can't see why anyone has an issue when someone respectfully asked to not have their pictures posted on the internet. I personally have several photos of various people that they have asked me not to post and I respected their wishes and never posted any of them. I also have photos of people that I did not post on my own accord because I did not think they would want the whole world to see them, purely out of respect, and some of those people I didn't even know or ever meet. And I have generally told people, all you have to do is ask that I don't post a picture (no matter what it is) and I will respect your wishes and not post it. If you are some where and don't know the people around that is one thing, and I would not do anything that I didn't want posted somewhere. But when you are among friends (and I would generally consider most skydivers friends, at least to some degree, to me we are basically one big family), to me there is this thing called common courtesy and respect, and that changes the scenario. Plus, people keep talking about having a camera free zone at boogies so people can be themselves and have no worries. But why can't we just be respectful of people and not post photos that are not necessarily appropriate or if they specifically ask to not have them posted, and not give them a hard time about it.
