.....................(write it down and remember it).......................... LADIES AND GENTLEMEN I PRESENT THE QUOTE OF THE YEAR ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt

You know I think I have read every post submitted on this topic with an open mind and tried to understand everybodies point of view or opinion on the matter, including my own. Most opinions I felt were intelligent, well thought out, and articulated. Some opinions opened my eyes to some issues that I never would have associated with logic until this opportunity arrived for me to have the privilege to be blessed by ALL of your enlightened intellect. I want to thank ALL of you and would like to share my conclusion of ALL of your whit on this controversial subject.... YOU ALL are full of shit (yep including me)... ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Not the girls...you sexist bastage... I can't tell if you agree with what I stated or not, however, some companies policy on "Random Drug Testing" is exactly what yours is. It looks good on paper and not only saves you money but gives you legal standing to test an employee that you have suspicions off. I don't think that "Random Drug Testing" is ment as a form of catching people, but merely a protective measure. If a company chooses to randomly test on a regular bases I do believe it is their right (protective measures only) as is anybodies right to refuse. Your example is a perfect scenario: You walk in and smell the odor of marijuana and can tell HE is high as a kite. He/she denies smoking it. You tell them to submit to the test and they refuse. LEGAL TERMINATION. You don't want to go court because you are civilly sued for wrongfull termination and have to explain how you know what marijuana smells like if you don't smoke it yourself. Not saying you smoke it, but a lawyer will try and hem you up on that. (Fucking lawyers, but thats another thread entirely). ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Understood, but I wonder how far does that go? How bout if you were forced to disclose your medical history to your employer upon demand? Would that be OK with you? jen Off the subject a little, but a good point. Can you name one "legitimate" company (career wise) that doesn't require you to provide you Social Security number or tax ID number. It's you right to withhold it but a job your won't have. ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Pro Shiatsu electric massagers - anyone used one?
fallingchip replied to Newbie's topic in The Bonfire
Deep tissue...some do some sort off at best. Be careful of the one that can provide a "deep tissue" can cause bruising to the muscles. Do you have any shops/stores around that carry these type of products...if so go try one out before you buy. ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt -
Another fine example...seriously. ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Before you get bombarded with the jokes... Yes they do work for temporary relief. ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt -
I have to side with Ron the most on this one. However, I don't agree with an employer meddling in anybodies private life outside the workplace. Contradicting I know, but sometimes it is best that it happens. I will use my profession for an example: The state of North Carolina will revoke my certification if "convicted" of any Domestic Assault. Granted if engaged in a Domestic Assault it should be a private matter, however, how would you feel if a cop was convicted of a Domestic Assault and still allowed to run around with a gun on his/her side both on and off duty. In reality...not possible nor probable. As far as the topic "Random Drug Testing", I am for it for it for the more simplistic reason. INSURANCE RATES. Workmens comp being the main one. Would you want a "drugie" working for you that slices a finger off, wrecks one of your companies vehicles...ect cause he/she is high or is jonesing. You would require random drug testing as well even if you disagree with it after you find your insurance rates are reduced for instilling the policy. It's not even a choice for some companies, if they don't they can't get insurance. It sucks to a degree, but it is also necessary. ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Advice on purchasing gear from classifieds?
fallingchip replied to fallingchip's topic in Gear and Rigging
If this has been covered before I apologize. I have spotted a container in the classifieds here on DZ.com that I think is a good deal. I did check the sellers prior adds and he/she has several things posted past and present. Is there any advice anyone could offer as cautioners measures before making this or future purchases. ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt -

Do you have proof that it fixes all these problems? Cause some disagree:*** ______________________________________________________ Have you ever been on chemotherapy? Neither have I, but I have been at the side of someone dear to my life that IS. "Pot" when smoked or eatend can relieve the chronic pain better and cheaper than most prescription medications. Also, if your not aware, one of the MANY side effects of chemotheropy is loss of appetite which is one of the more life threatening side effects. People on chemotheropy have unknowingly caused further harm to their already fragile bodies and few have even died just from starvation. Chemotheropy makes you sick to your stomach, the last thing you want to do is eat. Everybody knows "pot" causes the "munchies" and IS EFFECTIVE in combating the lack of appetite problem. Seeing as how I am watching a loved one going through this and I seeing first hand that "Pot" is more effective than any of the medications she is on. I don't need a buch of politicians telling me something I can see with my own to eyes, especially when 90% of the politicians are wined and dined by the pharmasceutical companies including Mr. John Walters. ____________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________ "A radical man is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt
