Hi, my family and I from England (6 of us) are going to the Christmas Boogie at Eloy this year and am wondering about transport from Phoenix to Eloy. Hire car is out of the question. I know there is a shuttle bus but I want to be a little more adventurous! Is the Greyhound Bus a good idea?

This WAS meant to be light hearted! Just to point out that the Imperial system is still live & kicking (just)!

You live in Chicago, I am ENGLISH and live in Birmingham ENGLAND. You are telling me what we use?!!! I use UK gallons (bigger than US). I use Yards, Feet inches, Pints, Quarts, Nips. Miles, Furlongs. Chains, Poles. Stones and Pounds. Does that clear it up?
-
You don't use the 'English' system. US gallons are different to UK gallons.

'fraid not. Wrong on at least one count. French were first to experiment with delayed parachute openings and to develop stable free-fall body position.

Three hours from Japan, somewhere in the Pacific?

Hi, I know Mike quite well (he put me out of the Rapide as when I was a student in the 70's). Apparently, the Rapide pilot's reaction was "Where the f**k did you come from!". Mike still jumps, he was CCI at Redlands (UK) until last year.

In the UK we are not "required to be a member of the BPA" in order to jump. It is just that there are no longer any non-BPA affiliated DZ's (as far as I know). In days gone by, there were. You could jump at these DZ's without BPA membership. That would still be the case today, if a non-affiliated DZ were to open. I know that that is unlikely, but I was just making the point that BPA membership is not compulsorary, as far as I am aware. Of course, things could have changed in this respect since I started in '73 when there were a number of non-affiliated DZ's in the UK.

I didn't know there were 'pubs' in the USA. I never managed to find one!

Just stick it in the ear cavity with Blu Tak. Works fine, believe me!
