Where are the cutoffs for that? Do they all fly the same w/ the mods? Ted Like a giddy school girl.

No... Sorry. I'm only halfway through it. I'll probably watch the rest tonight. I've been renting a lot of weird stuff ever since I got netflix, and this movie was one of them. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

"somebody should buy this guy a proverb book, or something, 'cause this mix and match shit's gotta go." Ok, everybody knows this quote, but what's it from: "When I say 'who's the masta?' you say 'Sho 'nuff'! Ted Like a giddy school girl.

If you have ever rode the plane down...
Professor replied to gatorbait's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Twice, once for weather, once for a resevre premie in the plane. Walking back and shutting the door w/o a rig on is a weird feeling. Ted Like a giddy school girl. -

Let me consult the book of armaments. Before answering this, I will require a shrubbery. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Ace ventura? "lovely party, pity I wasn't invited." Here's a difficulty level 10 one: "Just you 57 punks against Kung Fu Joe? Master of Kung Fu, Karate, Jujitsu, and some other shit you ain't never even heard of?!?" Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Russians don't take a dump, son, without a plan. "HEAD! PANTS! NOW! edit: you beat me to it, airtwardo. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Taking a guess here, Full Metal Jacket? Nope. From the same movie: "They mostly come out at night. Mostly." Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Boiler room?? Now I'm just guessing. Are A licenses really up in the 185,000's now? Or is that your USPA number? "Brilliant! So now we got a Huge Guy theory and a Serial Crusher theory." Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Sounds familiar. The professional? Haven't seen that one in a while. "Nice marmot."

Holy shit! someone actually got that one! You get to drink from the FIREHOSE!!! "Another glorious day in the corps. Every day in the corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade! I love the corps." Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Yep, fear and loathing. I wouldn't know if it's any good, I've never made it to the end sober Some people hate the english. Not me, they're just wankers. We, on the other hand, we're colonized by wankers. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Winner! Guess that was too easy. How about the other one? or "NOTHING!!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! STUPID!!! YOU SO STUPID!!!! Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Evil Dead 3? Hail to the king, baby How 'bout this: "Your clothes. Give them to me." or: "Holy Jesus! What are these god damned animals!" Ted Like a giddy school girl.

1) nobody else jumps them. 2) I've personally witnessed at least two floating pud reserve rides in the last couple years. I've never seen a horseshoe. 3) I already have a throw out, and it works fine (if it ain't broke...) I'll still seriously consider one the next time I get a new rig, but not wanting multiple deployment systems will probably steer me away from a pull-out. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

This hasn't been everybody's experience w/ the Co. They are not the cure all to spinning mals or slammers. Pack volume is about the same, some say the cobalt packs up a little bigger, but that hasn't been my experience w/ the 3 i've flown. The lines must be spectra, from things Atair has said. Both are nice canopies, you'll be happy w/ either. have fun. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Cool, thanks. Actually, I was thinking of a Collins lanyard, the thing that cuts away your non-RSL attached riser on a Vector (and probably some other stuff. Thanks. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
-
Interesting. I always thought Steven's Lanyard and RSL were interchangeable terms for the same device. The guy asking the question is from Brazil, though. It may be that what we refer to as RSL is called a Steven's system down there. I thought the steven's lanyard was the cross connector. I think vectors still have one. I wasn't aware that there was a whole steven's system. I wish someone who actually knew would comment on this. Blues Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Agreed, completely. mmmmmm, tities...... No doubt, but it seems like you're trying to define a set of complex and interconnected characteristics into a single number. Wildly different canopies can end up w/ very similar numbers, and there's no explanation of what Pf means to the jumper (higher Pf = more responsive? more lift? faster turns? more sensitive openings?) That's what people really care about, in the end. The only way that you can really communicate all of the planform intricacies to the jumper is to give them all the dimensions, and 90% of jumpers wouldn't know what to make of that anyway, and that's without thinking about trim and airfoil and such. Anyway, I applaud your efforts to clear up the inconsistencies and marketing-speak surrounding canopy design, it's a herculean task and I wish you luck. Thanks for coming here and explaining this, as well. Keep up the good work Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Too late, I already ordered the fixed 28/f1.8 Oh well. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

Does it seem to anyone else that this gives undue weight to the number of tapered cells? The Safire 2 is marketed as being fairly forgiving, and has quite a bit less taper than a stiletto, but has a noticably higher Pf, just because all of it's cells are tapered. Seems like it's the end cells that really matter anyway, since that's where the control lines connect. I didn't realize the springo was so radical. Too bad we can't get that frog stuff over here, sounds like fun. Ted Like a giddy school girl.

fixed: 3.1" long, 17 oz zoom: 3.3" long, 13.2 oz so appearantly, the fixed is actually heavier than the zoom, and not much lighter. I'm going to mount it on top of the helmet, not on the front, so length isn't going to be much of a problem anyway. For the money, and the versatility, and weight, it seems like the zoom is a better deal, but now I'm wondering about the picture quality, and durability of the zoom. Seems like it should weigh more. I'm about to get into still photography, and I'm wondering what sort of lens I should get. I've found a fixed 28mm f1.8 for $220, and a 28-105mm f2.8 for $175. This will be the only lens I have for the camera, and it needs to work for tandem, and freefly would be nice. It'd be a bonus if I could use it on the ground, but it's not really important that I can. So, what is the best bet? Thanks Ted Like a giddy school girl.
