  1. Or mercury. What if you like your fish with mercury. Really, WTF. People are demanding the right to eat E Coli spinach, and the FDA arrogantly goes around forcing packagers and farms to issue recalls. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  2. Cheers btw, I had a blast this weekend
  3. Speaking of expected lift capacity, let's start getting the speeds down some The tail wing on my MTR3 blew out on the last dive on Saturday. Ahh well, I needed an excuse to buy a new suit anyway
  4. It makes perfect sense. Our federal and state governments keep bailing them (and their insurers) out. Pull away the subsidies and see who's willing to live in a $3 million home on a barrier island when the insurance runs to $750k per year. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. 5. Seeing as nobody recognizes the Turkish government in Cyprus besides Turkey, I bet it'd be easy for NATO to convince itself that Turkey hadn't been attacked at all. Now, if Turkey were to fight back or if Greece were to strike the Turkish mainland...that could be problematic. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. 6. Yep, that's relativism. And it's rejected outright by "all or nothing" style belief systems. Fundamentalist belief systems, clearly. And most contemporary belief systems at their root. It's "fear their apostasy" followed by "convert them or kill them". For many of them relativism is apostasy, unquestionably, and even to question why is heresy. 7. But they'll fight wars over whose education & what communication it takes. The relationship is not commutative. Relativism tolerates other belief systems, but most other belief systems reject Relativism. You'd have to conquer them first. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. 8. Which could be very convenient. I don't think the executive branch is smart enough to pull something like that off, tho. More likely the other way around imo, US & Iran pick a fight, Kurdistan secedes while they're all distracted. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. 9. For my company it was $35 / person and it was equally fictional as the free version. It's hard for me to believe anyone would ever buy into a system that says people can't be both vain (introverted) and socialites (extroverted). Maybe if they'd never been to Los Angeles. 10. I don't think Bushie would let Turkey operate an overlapping invasion. Would it be good or bad for their EU aspirations? Bad, I'd guess...I thought mistreatment of Kurds was one of the things keeping Turkey out of the EU. Besides that whole skin tone and religion thing. On the other hand, they could win brownie points with the EU by standing up to the US. I can see Bushie allowing them to operate more aggressively, or perhaps partitioning a slice or two off as a buffer zone. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. 11. Food addicts, lots of em in American religious circles. Obesity is the result. There's even some academic research on the subject: http://psychcentral.com/news/2006/08/25/religion-linked-to-obesity/ My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. 12. Don't forget about the Turks. They've been pretty unambiguous about how they feel about an independent Kurdish state. Could be interesting. Turkey declares war on Kurdistan. Then, while Turkey is engaged in former Iraq, Greece and the Republic of Cyprus recapture the Turkish half of Cyprus. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. 13. I've got a 4:30pm arrival at TPA, there's a chance I might make a sunset load. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  14. Amen. To the extent that they don't already from time to time, mfrs and DZs should be putting their heads together and sharing info on who is not to trust. There's an advantage that skydiving is such a small sport. No doubt one of the reasons to establish a rigid dealer program, for all the flaws. 15. One more tactic in a war between an established state and guerillas. Lebanon has proved unwilling or unable to disarm, absorb, or expel Hezbollah, and Hezbollah has proved unwilling or unable to conduct war with Israel separately from civilians. So the civilians get killed among the guerillas when Israel fights back. It's the outcome of several bad decisions. It doesn't seem to me that the current pace is for anything but more of the same. Israel is not going anywhere and Hezbollah is not being disarmed... My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  16. Random coincidence this phenomenon was on the Astronomy Picture of the Day yesterday. They called it Anticrepescular Rays I thought it was buildings when I saw it too, but clouds makes more sense. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. 17. Yes. A tax on pot could pay for more terror warriors, and the pot would make everybody chill out or get really paranoid. Providing hours of entertainment worthy of the evening news. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  18. A war on Pan-Islamism. Agreed. Perhaps we could include other violent currents as well. But Pan-Islamism seems to be the biggest target right now. Subtly but crucially different from a war on Islam itself. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  19. When I was in college, a student died after falling off one step, having hit the base of his skull when he landed. That said, around here it's mostly tilled cornfields and beanfields, I think you'd do reasonably well, if you didn't end up face down and suffocate in the dirt/mud. 20. Looked like he was propped up in the wind tunnel... Cool nonetheless. Flown it outside the lab yet? What kind of performance does it get? My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  21. Yeah the fine controls are mainly in the legs and lower back. Keeping your arms level, slide your ribcage laterally to the side you want to go toward, bending your lower back a little. In the air this probably has the effect of pushing your legs out to the opposite side. Just a little motion is all that's required, your spine's natural inflexibility will limit the amount of displacement involved. An inch or two is all it takes for me. 25. It's 100% true that immigrants drain resources from the states & localities where they originally settle (and then move on, as they integrate), and that's something that our federal gov't should address with subsidies. Kinda like how the interstate system works, where the federal gov't gives out money to the states, in return for the national economic benefit provided from the roads. In the case of immigrants, they pay back directly over time, so it's not even a question of diverting other funds. It's not an argument against immigration, because the economics shows that the net benefit is still overwhelmingly in favor of allowing immigrants.
