Why not behind a boat on the water? Kind of like para sailing. I would thing that if anything got funky early the water might make for a softer landing than dirt. Granted after a certain point it doesn't matter and the water is just as hard as concrete. J YSD#0009

Ok so when you look at it I don't think a $5M lotto is actually that much money. First to get the most out of it you need to take the cash up front. When you do this they automatically cut it in half. So start with $2.5M Then THE MAN wants his cut at least at 35%. Now you're at $1.6M Then if you plan to quit your job and live off of this amount you need to invest it all and pray for an 8% return per year. This cuts you down to $130K/yr. Then when you take this out of your investments THE MAN wants to take another cut on the profits you made so now you're down to... counting on fingers and toes...hmm... About $84.5K/yr WHOA, Never mind... bye the rig, hop on the bus, make a pit stop past Tijauna, and crack open the beer I'm tourin' the country... YEAH!!! J YSD#0009 J YSD#0009

This happened to me on a bunch of jumps as well. Turns out I wasn't pushing down with my arms enough. It is kind of cool to just rocket away from them though... J YSD#0009

I have a Bonehead Mindwarp and love it. But lately, I have been thinking about the protection it actually provides for me. This has come up in a coup of different threads but I would love for it (and for that matter I think most other skydiving helmets besides the protec) to have more impact protection. What I mean is that there is very little foam/impact absorbing material inside many of the skydiving specific helmets I have seen. Isn't this the stuff that keeps your bell from getting rung? Ok I'm off on a tangent know but if I were you your shoes and just starting to get a helmet I would get a Protec. J YSD#0009

Yeah I had heard that too and so I started to move my legs farther apart. As I did so I found that when I wanted to fall straight down this worked great. But when I wanted to go forward or backwards I would develop stability problems. Chris disected my body position and said that having my legs spread way apart makes it difficult to adjust how the air is deflected off of my body and therefore my movement through the sky. Having my legs spread was basically causing my calfs to catch a bunch of air when I tried to go forward. This was mainly due to the fact that spreading my legs way far apart made it more difficult to drive my legs down. $.02 for what it's worth. J YSD#0009

Ok but are there any drawbacks to using them? ie: potential for bag lock, line-dump, etc.. J YSD#0009

Ok before you go and tell me to look through the archives I already have. Plus I have gotten a lot of opinions about this from many other people that are very informed on the subject. I just wanted to hear what you all thought. In looking through the archives I didn't find any clear statements as to a draw back to Skybands, Sky Bandz, or Tube Stows on any of the d-bag stows besides the locking stows. I guess where I'm going with this is that I'm flirting with the idea of using a stow band other than regular rubber bands and would like to know of any drawbacks. Does anyone know of any drawbacks to using these, Tube Stows, or Sky Bandz? Thanks. Jensen YSd#0009

I learned that I need to keep my legs closer together in my sit. On a coach jump with Chris Fiala you could really see that I had my legs spread way apart and that this was limiting my mobility. J YSD#0009

A select few of my favorites out of this thing "Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours." "Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you."Woohoo Deja Vu here I come!! and finally my favorite: "Don't complain if he's late home for dinner or even if he stay's out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through that day." Oh man this thing is killing me!!!LMOA J YSD#0009
