Not sure if I am just going to ask him out. That is taking a really BIG chance. Last time I asked someone out, it blew up in my face and i looked stupid.

I guess I am really shy, so I don't know how to flirt. I haven't had to in a long time. This is someone I do know and have known for a month or so. I chat with him whenever I see him, but am usually kinda nervous, so any thought of flirting goes out the window. I worry that if I were to flirt with said guy, he might take me as invading his personal space.

Yes, I don't know how to flirt with guys. I'm not shy. I just tend to be a bit reserved. If you like someone and want them to know you like them, how do you flirt effectively, without looking like a creeper or an oddball???? Yah!!!!

Hey, I think a honeymoon in Disneyland or Disney World would be way coool. I have friends who had a Disney wedding. That was fun and the resort puts on a really good wedding. There are a lot people out there who are into Disney stuff (and don't have kids). Heck I like Disney stuff and want to go on a Disney cruise solo.

why all the hatred for the iPad? I have the 1st gen iPad. It does the job, but now that I have a MacBook Pro (that does the job even better), not sure if I will upgrade to the newest iPad.

do you ever worry about if people like you or not?
guineapiggie101 replied to guineapiggie101's topic in The Bonfire
I know this is an old thread, but sometimes I wonder if I am "too intense". For example, I said something yesterday to someone and I also think, because I tend to have a nervous personality, I can get "clingy" , and now maybe that person is turned off from a friendship with me. I dunno. I tend to "stick my foot in my mouth" a lot of times, and that has a lot to do with me being worried about offending people. Most people, who have met me, will say I am a nervous bundle of energy, who needs to lighten up and relax. -
I think you have it wrong, porn is NOT free

would you ever go on a cruise by yourself?
guineapiggie101 replied to guineapiggie101's topic in The Bonfire
Nawomal, I've done a cruise similar to yours. It was on an old 19th century sailing schooner. 3 night sail trip to Catalina and back. Learned a lot about old sailing ships (got to do night watch and also raise/lower sails). A lot of fun. No cabins, just bunks. Shah, thanks! :) -

hahahahhahahahahaha!!!!!! ME, a chick in a heavily male dominated sport!!! Yeah, only if I looked cuter and was taller. Being 4'5" and stout, doesnt help at all!!!! Not to add, I don't have my license either. (sorry for the pity party) :) -

I don't have many lady friends. And most of them are married or have a bf and don't want to go alone. Best friend thinks cruising is confining so that is a "no go" . My mom gets severely seasick, and she avoids even ferry rides. -

Thinking of going on a cruise by myself one of these days. I've always wanted to try out a cruise but no one wants to go on one with me. Is it expensive to do it on your own? I've traveled a lot on my own, even out of the country, so that's not a fear of mines. I am going to Australia latter part of next month and while the first week is with relatives, the 2nd week will be solo. -
Shah, don't you already HAVE a gf????

Who can be a skydiver?
guineapiggie101 replied to divadgagnon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
some who is prone to anxiety and cannot keep it under control, is NOT a candidate for skydiving. Too much anxiety can hinder any type of split-decision making, and skydiving is a very intense sport where things can happen in split seconds. -
learning to freefly/backfly in tunnel
guineapiggie101 replied to guineapiggie101's topic in Freeflying
In this thread so far, I have read that tunnel IS safer than skydiving and then tunnel is NOT safer than skydiving. I'm confused, which is it? Yeah, I can see banging into the tunnel walls can hurt someone (aka bumps and bruises), but, in a tunnel, one doesn't have to worry about someone hurtling at you at 150 mph (approx), as in like canopy collisions. Also, one doesn;t have to worry about landing patterns and not landing correctly and hurting oneself. I started off going after my "A" license. I only decided to change course because on my 2nd solo jump, I had a compound tib/fib because I panicked and made a bunch of unwise decisions that affected my landing. It seems to be fun to learn to fly on your back and eventually graduate to head down. So, what IS the best way to mitigate risk in the tunnel? As of now, I won't continue tunnel training until I get my jumpsuit (which might be a few months since Liquid Sky is a bit backordered). -
I didn't get a tunnel suit. I got a freefly suit. I still plan on doing tandems AND tunnel and didn't want too heavy/bulky of a suit. I can't wait till I get my suit, but the 3-4 month lead time sucks. I know they are very popular :)
-
I ended up ordering a freely Liquid Sky jumpsuit with very little added stuff, for around $425. Color scheme is purple and grey with purple and white accents. Lead time is about 3-4 months :(

learning to freefly/backfly in tunnel
guineapiggie101 replied to guineapiggie101's topic in Freeflying
I would think it IS safer than skydiving, considering, I don;t have to worry about landing and flaring correctly. When I was skydiving, I had a compound tib/fib from landing incorrectly and making a bunch of stupid mistakes. -
I don't want to spend more than $400 on a jumpsuit, esp since I don't plan on doing solo skydiving anytime soon again. Not getting booties or grippers on anything like that. Just a plain simple suit with an electric purple and grey color scheme.

Bev suit might be another idea. Tunnel isn't that bad after all. I guess I will ask the store when I am at the DZ tomorrow

learning to freefly/backfly in tunnel
guineapiggie101 replied to guineapiggie101's topic in Freeflying
I am going to stick with this. It's fun, and it is safer than skydiving. After I get my suit, I will do some more training. -
How quickly can one usually get a custom made jumpsuit for a reasonable cost? I am NOT doing solo jumps again. After giving a 15 minute try in the tunnel to do backflying and stuff, I want to continue. My coach and I did determine that it would be better if I had my own jumpsuit. I also want a suit that I can use on my tandem jumps too (since I am not going to give that up either). What should I look for in a suit, that can be used for both tunnel freeflying AND tandems? I am leaning towards Liquid Sky. It seems most tunnel flyers are sporting those suits and I like the color scheme.

learning to freefly/backfly in tunnel
guineapiggie101 replied to guineapiggie101's topic in Freeflying
Did you find it tough to learn this in the beginning? Any tips on making the best use of tunnel time to freefly/backfly? I am hoping this doesn't turn into where it takes me a LONG time to learn the basics. I did 15 minutes of tunnel time yesterday with a coach (highly recommended). Had a bit of trouble with learning on my back. Was all over the place. A bit frustrating. One thing, I have to get my own suit. The coach did mention that my body structure/size could be an issue. I dunno. I like it so far. Want to give it another spin. It's tiring though. -
Stick around on a weekend day after jumping is over. Instructors are more relaxed and less busy and willing to discuss stuff that you need signed off. Beer also helps, from what I've been told Also, if you hang around after jumping is done, you'll get to meet people and chat with them, people that you will eventually be doing fun jumps with. Can't wait to see you get your "A" license.

Cheap places around Elsinore
guineapiggie101 replied to BlindBrick's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Lake Elsinore's Casino Hotel usually has rooms for cheap rates. They also offer skydiver discounts http://www.lercasino.com/ Else, you can camp out at the DZ.
