  1. Is everything acceptable when our friends die? Should we show more respect than "fuck, blue ones dude" How about "The fuckin fucker's fucken fucked". 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  2. I called someone a 'tosser' in the first thread I started and got cautioned for a personal attack. Some consistancy please. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  3. A few years ago a bloke walked into a bar and saw Rumsfeld and Bush in deep discussion at a table in the corner. Curious, he bought a beer and wandered over. "What are you two doing here" he asked. "We're planning World War Three" replied Rumsfeld. "We're going to kill 100 million muslims and a big titted blonde woman". Confused the man asked "Why would you want to kill a big titted blonde woman" At that Rumsfeld turned to Bush and said "See, I told you no one would give a fuck about 100 million muslims!!" 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  4. Bugger off. The fatter I get the higher the wingloading therefore negating the need to downsize my canopy. Buying a bigger jumpsuit is way more cost effective. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

  6. I know of a rigger that has a time expired Cypres in his own gear, as no one but him packs his gear so who is going to find out. Bet there are more riggers out there doing the same thing. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  7. My vote for SportRX as well. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  8. http://www.kaya-optics.com/ Found this website that claims that this lens can see through fabric. Does the science stack up? 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  9. Go for the Blackeye but bear in mind that there are two versions of the Blackeye depending on the camera you are using. Check with Waycool if thats the route you are going to take. There service was really good when I dealt with them and my glove still rocks after a 1000 jumps. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  10. I can see the red light on my set up too, but I find that using a cameye is superior as I then have one handed control of the camera, but thats another issue. The wider the angle the better. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  11. Did a tandem a few days ago that was going ok but could feel that it was trying to wind up. I was able to hold heading but as I reached for the drogue release it started to turn - but not too badly. The opening was harder than usual with the turn inducing a linetwist which resulted in the hardware where the student harness hooks on, compressing my head around the temple area. Not a pleasant sensation! I always wear a helmet - albeit a soft one - and I believe this saved me from serious injury. I have heard urban legends of TIs having ears ripped off and other nastys in similar circumstances. Does anyone else have a story to tell.....? 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  12. Just had a look at the specs for the HC90 and I couldn't find any mention of a LANC port for remotely controlling the camera with a cameye. IMO the cameye makes the use of the handcam far less problematic. On the lens issue, I use the .25 Blackeye lens from Waycool and think it's great. My mate was using a .3 lens - since changed to a .25 - and the difference in video was huge, so what ever manufacturer you go for think wider is better. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

  14. For the record, AU/NZ have a legal age of 14 for skydiving, so they aren't "skirting" the rules there (well, they would be for a 12-year-old, but I doubt that happens all that often even there). I can't speak for Australia, but in New Zealand we can take children of any age for a tandem jump as long as their parant / guardian has signed the appropriate waiver. The youngest that I'm personally aware of to do a tandem at the DZ I work at is 4. It's not uncommon for 12 year old kids to do a jump. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  15. On a camera jump a few years ago I grabbed the risers as taught to deal with potential linetwists. As it turned out I got them but because of my camera wings - big belly, big wings - I couldn't lift my arms high enough. The resulting twists jammed both my thumbs against my helmet and I had to extract them with a certain ammount of force. Ended up with bloodblisters under both thumbnails. Guess the only consolation was that they both hurt equally. Since that time after I pitch I reach down and unclip my wings before doing anything else. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

  17. Plus it cracks copyright protection codes..... not that I'd use that function. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  18. I don't care. Take this thread to the bonfire. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  19. IN New Zealand we use PAL but many of our customers come from NTSC countries. This has often led to emails from overseas visitors complaining about being unable to watch their DVDs when they return home. Recently we bought a converter which can be viewed at www.world-import.com/cmd1500.htm and we are very happy with the job it does. There is no colour degradation and only the slightest 'shimmer' in picture frame. It's not jerky, as I have seen with other converters. Overall its 99% original and far better than having complaints via email. It's a simple, real time conversion and well worth it if you are in the position of having to deal with NTSC / PAL issues on a regular basis. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

  22. Had no problems when I ordered a Vigil. 20 years plus vs 12. Time and cost for maintenance vs none. 3 modes vs 1 therefore more functional. No contest really. The fact that the PIA ganged up and wouldn't allow vigil to exhibit at the last symposium - pathetic old boys club!! 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  23. Meet the Feebles - It's like the muppets on drugs!! 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  24. Went out last night and had a few more than was good for me. Wife was sober driver - bless her. However, she made it a scary ride home and it was hard not to 'give her helpful advice'. Don't know if the law would accept the reasoning that it is safer for everyone concerned if I drive drunk, instead of allowing my wife to drive sober. Any other guys with this dilemma? 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
