Watch the passengers neck as the TI calls for head back. If the neck muscles are tense and the head tends to push forward, the passenger is not relaxed and there is a more likely chance of an 'interesting' exit. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

I haven't read all the thread so sorry if this has been in before. Parachutes Australia have mandatory 20 year lifespans on some of their equipment including the Talon, which I assume is made under license. Check this link. Opps, apologies. I did miss the Afganistan bit and my remarks were aimed at Iraq. Livened up the thread though! 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

I wish no harm to your son, but with an attitude like yours and the rest of the posters displayed in this thread, your collective sons and daughters will continue to come home in bags. Your gungho support for the invasion and occupation of a foreign country under false pretences will only bring more pain and suffering to all concerned. Continue to bury your heads in the sand, but please understand that the vast majority are opposed to Americas interventionist policies. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

Dozens died in Syrian-Iranian chemical weapons experiment
Rover replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
USA supported Mujahadeen terrorists in Afghanistan. USA supported Contra terrorists in Nicaragua. USA helped overthrow democratically elected government in Chile. IRA leaders entertained by US political leaders in Washington DC. USA turned blind eye to decades of IRA fund raising in US. USA possesses weapons of mass destruction. USA invaded Panama. USA invaded Grenada. USA invaded Iraq. How many nations has Iran invaded or occupied recently? In the late 1950s the CIA helped oust the democratically elected Government of Guatamala to secure the supply of cheap bananas to US through the United Fruit Company, fostering the expression of a 'banana republic'. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do. -

98% sure you will find that the 38 doesn't have a LANC port. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do. -
Hops suck. Saw a 'retrimmed' Hop lose 3 or 4 cells at 50 feet in moderate winds recently. IMHO Hop + turbulance = serious injury / death!! Have done a few jumps on a 300 square foot Icarus and it rocked, even in high winds. Mind you high performance canopy = high performance mals....... 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

Thanks for your comments. To clarify, the reserve was activated by the primary reserve handle and not the secondary handle on the right. The hand with the handcam on didn't touch the reserve handle. As you know, because of the position of the handle on the MWL facing out, to activate the reserve you must deliberately place your hand there. It is not a natural place for the hand to be. Therefore the only logical conclusion is that the reserve pud struck the upper arm area, was dislodged and activated the reserve during the harness distortion of opening. I'll do my best to get the movie clip uploaded this week so that it can be viewed by one and all. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

I don't get it. Why is there a forum exclusively for women on a skydiving website? If this forum is appropriate in this PC world, what about incorporating other groups. I'm sure there are others out there that need more exposure as well. Erectile disfunction perhaps? Skydiving is for skydivers. Let the forums reflect that!! 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

A woman walks up to the checkout at a supermarket and hands her basket to the young man behind the counter. He proceeds to scan the goodies inside. Among the contents are 6 eggs, half a litre of milk, a toothbrush and some paste, a roll of toilet paper, half a lettuce, 3 onions, a couple of carrots, some tampons and 2 pots of natural unsweetened yohgurt. He looks up at here and says "you're a single woman living by yourself aren't you" "Why yes" she smiled, "How did you know?" "Because you're fuckin ugly!! 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

This morning I received a phone call from a gorgeous ex-girlfriend who called 'out of the blue' to see if I was still around. We lost track of time, chatting about the wild romantic times we used to enjoy together. I couldn't believe it when she asked me if I'd be interested in meeting up and rekindling a little bit of that "old magic" "I don't know if I could keep pace with you now" I said. "I'm a bit older and a bit greyer and balder than when you last saw me. Plus I don't have the energy I used to have". She just giggled and said she was sure that I would "rise to the challenge". "Yeah" I said. "Just as long as you don't mind a waistline that's a few inches wider these days! Not to mention my total lack of muscle tone...everything is sagging, my teeth are a bit yellowed and I'm developing the jowls like a Great Dane!" She laughed and told me not to be silly. She teased me saying that tubby, grey haired, older men were cute, and she was sure that I would still be a great lover. "Anyway" she giggled "I've put on a few pounds myself!" So I told her to fuck off. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

I agree that it adds to the workload. To be honest, about 90% of the tandems I do I wear a handcam and for the 10% of jumps that do without are easier. I'm sure that the use of handcams have been debated in this forum before and if they haven't they should be. I for one would be an active participant. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

What is the minimum number of jumps required to get a Strong rating? I know in the 90s in the US it was 500 - which IMHO was way to low. But if this is still the case it is ironic that 500 jumps is required before one can do rw with a tandem, yet one can get a rating. Maybe my information is old. Like me. That being said, the TI must take responsibility for those that jump with them. Sometimes the situation clouds common sense as appears to be the case here. I'd like to say that we've all done it - bad calls - but if I did some rightous prick would leap out of the woodwork and correct me so I won't. Ross you've led with your chin because you're prepared to get hit on the chin. It's a good debate. We can all learn. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

Nah, It's of European manufacture. But thats all I got to say about that. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

It's not a Vector, but is modeled on the Vector and has the same operating systems. The Vector we use has a handle rather than a pud and in my opinion is alot more user friendly as you can rub your arm over it without snagging. It also has about 3 inches of tolerance before tension is applied to the reserve pin. I've been waiting for someone to comment on the fact that in order to get video footage the right hand drogue release is being used as the primary. Usually it's the left hand release thats used which would mean that the left arm would less likely be in a position to interfere with the reserve handle. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

I'll see what I can do but I'm not to sure how to do that. Thanks for the input. Blue skies. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

Seems thats the impression I'm getting also. However I can assure you thats not the case. As I explained the footage shows clearly this didn't happen. I agree about the 'tolerance' required and my sport rig is the same as yours. In the past I believe there was a similar problem when atriculated sports rigs were introduced with hip and chest rings, and the xtra movement was able to trigger a reserve opening - but don't quote me on this. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

The handcam footage shows that the camera was at arms length when the the reserve was activated, which means that the instructors hand was also at arms length. If you look at tandem gear you'll see that both the cutaway handle and the reserve handle face 'outward' from the main liftweb so that they are accessable to the TI while carrying a passenger. Video footage clearly showed that the pud was secure on exit and during freefall and yet the reserve deployed just fractionally after the main. The TI initial thoght was that it was an AAD malfunction - deployed at 5000 ft - but the AAD was fine and the loop not cut. The reserve pud was found to be dislodged and hanging about 2 to 3 inches from where it should have been. Tandem harnesses can go through a lot of distortion during opening, with the handles being in a 'higher' position after opening, moving from the chest area up to the shoulder area. As regard to the maintainence in question, the gear in question had been in use for less than 3 months and had no more than 200 jumps on it. It was in excellent condition. Therefore the only logical conclusion is the the pud was dislodged by catching on the jumpsuit in the upper arm area. This was because the left arm was being held out to capture the footage from which the photos were taken from. As I mentioned, the reserve cable has no 'tolerance' and as soon as pressure is applied to the pud it is applied to the pin, which is about 1 inch long. My intention is not to implicate a specific manufacturer and I realise that people will have opposing views to the use of handcam. But I stand by my belief that a TI should have full and free movement of their arms at all times to deal with situations as they arise. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

Cheers AFFI, I work on a small cessna dropzone where there are 2 TIs and I'm the camera jumper. We often use handcams to provide punters with what we believe is high quality video footage. Others may disagree but that is their problem as far as I'm concerned. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
