Weight shift makes sense. Thanks, I'll definately apply it.I don't want to go the route of getting another helmet (altho it is the sensible route) also being over here in Africa we don't have the 'readily available' options that Europe, USA and Aus do. So I guess I'll just have to keep at it and make it safe and workable. You don't perhaps have any pics of your helmet full mounted ? "Africa is not for sissies"

Thanks Shivon. I've also been worried about the size of the mounting platform, hence my qustions. How did you mount it ? With a shoe (Goldmember) or direct ? Also, you mention moving off centre to compensate for weight shift. Could you explain that in a bit more detail ? I'm thinking about trying to fashion deflectors of sorts in case of riser slap "Africa is not for sissies"

Thanks for the input. Those thatt presently are jumping a top mounted stills on an Optik. What / how etc, did you mount ? Since my first post, I've been looking at the EOS 300D ?? Comments please. "Africa is not for sissies"

I've been happily using my Optik with a sidemounted video, but now want to add stills on top Any suggestions, comments or tips ? I still have to buy the stills camera and so need suggestions / recomendations here too. For either 35mm or Digital stills. "Africa is not for sissies"

I have mine mounted with a L-plate on a Bonehead Optik, Eye Cam II etc. I've got 'soft cover' made for it but would really like it enclosed...so if ANYONE comes up with a working D-box for the HC20 please, please, please pm me with the details and costs etc. Besides that.. I love the size and useability of it

when I first got my own gear I had Throw out (Leg mount ) I then went to Pull out and loved it, but had a few floating puds and saw a few premature openings on the same system (Old style 'banana' that was tucked into two 'envelopes' and was easily knocked out) I was doing a bunch of camera work back then and really didn’t want to video if anyone in the formation was jumping a pull-out. I had seen too many prematures ! I went back to throw out (BOC) I always preferred the Pull out's ease of packing, tidiness, and clean deployments and so went back to Pull out when the pud and Velcro system came out and will stay there.

I'm very interested to know this too. I've been looking at this option for a while now. But am leaning more towards conventional digital video then burning the edited producy onto dvd... Any comments on a viable combinations ? Cam/PC/Software/DVD burner etc "Africa is not for sissies"

Glad I don't follow YOUR god. I'd imagine a little tollerance training wouldn't go amiss. Imagine if every teenager who was embarased by their parents were treated the same way. Jesus.
