I am in the process of getting my class A license. I am currently learning on a Manta Canopy but I am curious about what chute would make a good learning chute after I get my license. I remember hearing someone mention that the Manta was a difficult chute to learn all the things that I will need to do for my later licenses. So...I am looking for a beginner chute that will allow me the versatility for achieving my license while still be good enough for me while I build up my experience. Thanks! I'm not sure if I am just not looking in the right place or not, but I am trying to find out info on the different licenses and what they allow and don't allow. Well, I went this weekend for the AFF-1 class and jump. Had a small class of about 7 oher guys, spent a late night on Saturday doing all of the classroom material. Came back to the DZ at 8:30am to do all the pratical work. Around noon, we finished up but noone was jumping do to lack of visibility....but about 1 hour later the clouds parted and I got suited up. The chute felt weird on my back, but tis a feeling that I hope to feel more often...when over the routine a couple more times on the ground before boarding the plane. Boarded the plane and accended to 13,500 feet. The door opened, I checked in and checked out and jumped from the plane. I had a small problem with my arch, my legs were too far back (towards my butt), but I fixed that thanks to the hand signals from my two jumpmasters. I proceeded on with the Circle of Awareness and 3 practice ripcord pulls and another Circle of Awareness. Then I relaxed for 15 seconds and enjoyed the view and the feeling of adrenaline rushing through my body. At 5500 feet I waved off and pulled my chute. All went well, had a small line twist that corrected itself. I again, sat there and enjoyed the view and the realisation that I have just done something that was FANTASTIC and that I want to do again ASAP. The radio man then directed me to the landing area where I made my first solo landing standing up. I was then brought back to the equipment room where I put everything away and proceded onto my jump debriefing. We discussed the jump and I was then awarded the AFF-1 graduation certificate. Woohoo!! Now I am planning the next 19 jumps I need to get my class A license. I will hopefully be jumping a couple times in the following weekend after July 4th. I think that covers everything that happened, except that I have watched the video like a dozen times in the last couple times. A|2 If you want to fly, get out of the plane! My Homepage My Blogger

I'm actually going gliding very soon. Got a gift certificate for a local gliding company. Should be fantastic!

I've been having flying/falling dreams for about 6 months now. I'm either falling from something very high or I can fly like Superman... I love these dreams!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone here. I start my AFF classes Saturday and I am thrilled. I've jumped twice before, both tandem...and I must say that I am hooked. Now...if this week will move a little quicker...
