My girlfriend and I visited Skydive Burnaby last weekend and it was a great experience. Very friendly and professional staff. Good vibe and awesome scenery. Only wish that I wasn't stuck with my family for the rest of the weekend. Will definitely go back there next time I'm in town.

Im sure that you heard this one many times before but what worked for me was watching the plane fly away and arch. No worries about arm and legs possition, just arch and make sure you smile at the people in the plane :-) Fixed my exits in one afternoon. Unlimited minutes, 1000 text messages, unlimited data AT&T $130 a month :-( I do use it a lot for work. A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

I noticed a HUGE difference in noise switching from student Protec helmet to my full face Oxygn. I could not believe it how quiet it got on my first jump with it :-). A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others. -
I like SDLI a lot, easy to spot from above, great landing area, friendly staff and fun jumpers. Some say its a tandem factory but I never felt that way and always get as many jumps as I want.... With that being said, I never jumped at the Ranch and SDLI is 15 min from my house :-) A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

I'm looking for my first rig, so I decided to try as many canopies as o can. I'm my opinion Saphire2 opens smoother then pilot, also has more flare. Pilot seemed a little more aggressive but for what I need now Safire 2 seems perfect. A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

Thanks. My advice would be: relax, have fun and take it one step at the time. Also, try to get as many jumps in as you can, without rushing it, doing my afp jumps close together helped me stay focused. I did my AFP in a week and two weeks later got my A license :-). I do live close to the DZ :-), oh yea sold my dirt bike to pay for it too LOL. A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

This is very addicting! Done with AFP, five jumps left to complete my A licence..... cant wait. A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

LOL, so true. Today on my first jum I was so confident with my landing that I almost had to PLF... Took it back a noth and stood the rest 3 landings. Anyway, Im one very happy guy todsay, passed level 4 thru 7 today and finished my AFF :-) :-) :-) Most of all, it became less fear and more fun! Looking forward to MANY safe and fun jumps. Thanks for the tips. It happened only on my first jump, no twists after that. Just did my level 3 today, level 4 tomorrow :-) A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

So going up in a plane for my AFF level 1 jump I was way more concerned with the canopy contol and landing it then a freefall. Im a fit guy and tought that arch wont be a problem.... lol was I wrong :-). After exiting the plane with my instructor I was trying to get in to good body position and never got comfortable, on my belly at all time, just not arching enough. Did the practice touches, lock on, waved and pulled..... Felt the canopy open, slowed down, all felt good except I couldn't look up. I guess I was spinning a little when I pulled because when I forced myself to look up I had a line twist, about 5-6 times. Canopy was square and stable ,so instead of panicking I started untwisting the lines. It sucks that there is noting to push of out there :-) After 5 or 6 spins to the left everything went back to normal. Almost stood it up on landing. Im happy that I kept my cool and was able to fix it. Did two more jumps that day, had to repeat second one(damm arch :-)...). Stood up the last two jumps. Ready for level 3 and cant wait. Im doing my AFF as well. We are the same weigth (195) and they put me on a 240 canopy. 3 jumps later it feels great :-) Good luck and have fun with it. A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

Hi everyone, I waited many years for my first jump because I knew that once I try it, its all over! And I was right, Im HOOKED!!! :-) Did my first tandem jump on saturday and started my AFP on sunday afternoon . Cant wait to go back, there is SO MUCH to learn, and I love challenges. Anyway just wanted to say hi everyone. Hope to find a lot of useful info around here. A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.
