Might be jumping again, need my rigger....
dippymoo replied to Leadfeathers's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
last i heard of bill he quit rigging, sorry, plenty of great riggers still in the area though i happen to be married to one...... -
Theres this small rule (at my dz at least) called the A-license rule. This means that you cannot date a sutdent until they have their A-license (we even sign an agreement to that) of course if you're already dating to them or whatever having met them off the dz there are exceptions, however in general I think shes going to find this is a lost cause!

Just curious but... How many jumps do you think a skydiver should have before they put a camera helmet on, and why (i'd do this as a poll but have no idea how too!)

Ok i've got to tell you about my strangest student! he was sent out to me by afellow brit to do the AFF course, i should have known something was wrong when he missed his ride from the airport cos he decided he wanted to go to a bar instead! From then on he would never be where he was supposed to be to jump, he wasn't that bad in the air just very inattentive and more interested in his own agenda than learning to skydive. on the 3rd morning he showed up with a black eye from the night before (from a chick!) he didn't jump that day (oddly enough) the nexxt morning he showed up with a 6-pack in hand (foolish me thought it was to apologise for being an asshat) but he said he wanted to drink for the next 2 days, and not skydive and that its his holiday! later that day i get a phone call from the local cops to pick him up from the hospital, where they'd taken him after pciking him up for being drunk in public. Eventually he was supposed to get on a flight home (no more jumping for him cos he couldn't stay sober!) last i heard was from not so local cops that they'd picked him up for breaking and entering! definite nominee for prick status i feel!

I wear a very fine weight belt made for me by Terminal Imagery and Rigging. Its custom colors and size, with a unique buckle pad to stop getting owies from the clips. PM me to find out where you can get one. You may have seen them modeled by Synchronicity when they were training this weekend.

my husband wishes i would forbid him from jumping cos then he wouldn't have to go to work!

Level 7 at my dz is mostly about unstable drills so defintely wouldnt' be a problem wanting to do them!

Brake fires are not packers responsibility thats why we have customers set their own brakes doesn't mean i don't check that they are done right but take no responsibility for this one, not your fault. if you are a good packer your number of repeat customers will reflect this and you shouldnt think about quitting.

AFFIs-Intent of SIMS concerning group freefall training
dippymoo replied to skyhussy's topic in Instructors
At our DZ no student may jump with anyone who is not a USPA rated coach or Instructor until they are licensed. Very few students do more than 2 ways on their coached jumps and this is usually only if they happen to be married to and instructor (gotta love nepotism) our system only requires 3 coached jumps in the 25 jupm program so its more benefical to the student to keep it 2 ways. -
come to so-cal so its dirty smelly and the traffic sucks, but we have 360 days sunshine and at least as many days jumping a year there are priorities you know! check thhis out you finish work at4/5ish drive out to perris or elsinore (hint hint) make a jump before sunset! and you're debt free and can then skydive even more, give up the real job move to the dz and become a bum wait a minute that was my life

In the mean time my poor meat loving husband eats vegetarion and will contine to do so until he starts to do the cooking!

Your neutral body position needs to be right in the middle of your rnidde of your fall rate range, so that you are not having to overexert yourself to stay with the gourp then as you dock on different formations thay have inherently slower or faster fallrates (ie a compressed accordian invitable floats, a cat tends to sink) you will not have a problem making the adjustment to stay with the group. I don't like to recommend peopla wear weights that are not comfortable with them. Its actually one of my pet peeves to see small girls stacking on the lead cos their buddy (who 200" said they need it) and then flying a bad body position to compensate for it. But at the same time its sometimes necessary. I weigh 120 but can pretty much hang with anyone from the 95 pound students who like to fly flat to the 224.5 pound students who arch with judicious application of weight. Don't get me wrong i can still get caught out every jump is a learning expereince but i try and begin the jump as prepared as possible wearing what i think will be the relavant amount of weight to put me in the middle of my range to hang with this particular person hope this helps! remember lead can be your friend! would also recommend you strech before you jump so you can arch better and wear a correctly fitting suit
