Me and my friend got consecutive numbers. I got the lower number because he didn't want to do the 135ft cliff first. He has since retired, with close to 400jumps and no injuries. Now he just plays with machine guns :) May we live long and die out

I would jump down, as it is a faster way to give aid, call 911if needed, Stash my gear and wait for the authorities to show up and tell them that i was just there to ground crew. Local conditions may change that plan somewhat, but as the saying goes, if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. May we live long and die out

Other than certain national parks, on the west and east coast. I would say 99percent of the population wouldn't have a clue as to what it was or meant. I've had my number on my tag since I got it 98 and can say it has never gotten me busted. Now I don't take it to certain areas except certain times of the year, but other than those "warm" places, no local sheriff or tower engineer would make the connection. Now it your tag said "BASEJMPR" that might bring down the heat. I would worry more about exposed packing in known areas than someone's tag. I am oppessed to all the skydiving stickers I see though. That does draw way too much attention. Big crowds on special nights at "warm" objects is enough of a drawback to not even go in the first place :P peace MIke I do have a nice photo of my tag that the speeding camera caught and sent me in the mail! What about when someone takes the time and energy to open a site, makes the first jumps there and jumps there for years without any problems. Then they are nice enough to show the new people who have started and live much closer to these sites and they procede to blaze away without any disregard for the fact that others may enjoy these sites too, but can only manage to jump there a few time a year. These new locals simply because they are closer ruin it for the locals who a few years ago had these sites to theirselves. What's the protocol then?? PS I liked your comment about all your jumps being 99percent at night LERoy, maybe if you opened your eyes you might see the daylight, that is shinning all around you May we live long and die out

If the first wire attaches at 200ft, why didn't you just exit from around 320ft or so and open under the first set. You don't have to worry about wind direction then as long as the trees aren't blowing over on the ground or something. We jump our local "A" like that all the time. We've had wind speeds at exit- 320ft at or above 18mph(carried wind meter) but opening alttitude winds were around 9 at around 170ft or so.Winds were straight down the wire, take a decent delay to counter PC drift in the cross wind, and when it opens off heading, simply fly under the wire Simple On a" A" the wires are the biggest issue, not height. An extra couple of hundred feet of altitude just to make you feel safer. can put you in a more dangerous situation May we live long and die out
