That's still only 650 to 700 miles per day! T

Squeak, You act as if 2500 kilometers in 4 days is a long distance. Just guessing off the top of my head isn't that approximately 650 to 700 miles per day? A couple of weeks ago I rode approximately 1000 miles in a day without any strain whatsoever. Yes, there are some beemers capable of this, but the Big Harleys are built for comfort and look much cooler doing it! T

Evelyn, I've been riding motorcycles for over 30 years and turning wrenches on them for longer than that. I currently owm a 2007 heritage softail, I've had more than 13 bikes of different manufacture, In this day and time the harley's are built just as well as the other manufacturers. My reccomendation would depend mainly on the distances you are looking at riding. If you're going to be riding 200 miles or less in a day I would suggest a sportster 1200 custom, it has enough power will hold 4 gallons of gas and yes they make a seat with a backrest for it. If you are considering going further, I would suggest a Basic DYNA FXD the least expensive of the big twins. For your husband I would suggest one of the softails. Which one would depend on what he likes. Harley is coming out with a new model called the Rocker, I assume to replace the deuce which will be discontinued. The Rocker has more of a chopper look. Pictures are in this month's enthusiast magazine. If you chooes to buy an older bike make sure it has either an evolution or twin cam motor. One other thing, usually the Harley's will get better gas mileage on the highway than other cruisers, especially those made in Japan and yes I have owned plenty of them. Sportsters will usually get exactly what they're rated at and the Big twins will usually get a couple of miles less. I hope this helps! T

I would get out a USPA A license card and see which item I could be signed off for. The USPA has a 25 jump suggested minimum to get your A-License.

Bad hair day! must be nice to have any kind of a hair day!

Great looking bike! That almost looks like my 2006 1200r except mine has a black engine, Hooker trouble maker exhaust and spike air cleaner. I'd post pics but I'm at work til 2am and leaving at 7am to take my son to do a tandem. I'll be a lot poorer in the near future.

I went to the Texas Skydiving Center to take a static line course and wound up taking an AFF course. This wound up being a great decision! The Instructor Staff did a very good job of instructing the first jump course and James was an excellent AFF instructor. The staff was very friendly, they even took me (an older gentlemen 40 YOA) with them to the local town festival. I took a packing course with Gary and to this day I can still pack a chute. I have been packing and jumping my own chutes since jump#15. I had no problem finding the dropzone and I drove there from West Texas (approximately 8 hours) bypassing several other dropzones that were closer. I have been there a couple of times and the people and dropzone have always been great! I can't understand anyone ever having a bad experience! The DZO Cindy has always been very accomodating and willing to do what ever is necessary for everyone to have good time!! A Great Dropzone! TAndrews My .02

John, you must have it made! Making all of these trips, the photos are great! I've been to enchanted rock, there's a hidden drop off on the back side and I could have sworn that I saw a panther. Thanks Terry

Thanks, Chuck! That's just what I needed!! Merry Christmas to you and everyone else on DZ.com My rig should be paying you a visit sometime in March.

Welcome, if you are jumping regularly by next summer I should see you at the DZ when I take my vacation. I did my first jump at CAPC Good folks to jump with! If you are into outdoor activities Arkansas is a great place to be you are only 45 miles from the Lake. Good motorcycling, mountain biking, hiking, then there's always hunting and fishing.

"One Flew Over The Void"-crossing the U.S.-Mexican border

Well at least he thought to get permission before exploiting the mentally insane to make his political statement. -
I spent a lot of time looking at order forms before I ordered mine. Flite suit seemed to have the most straight forward order form. Being a new jumper I ordered the basic suit. I sent it back for a minor adjustment, they made the adjustment and had it back to me very quick. Excellent quality and great service! Flite Suit gets my vote. I am also a fast faller.

I will do whatever it takes, even jump out of an airplane for your business!

What age did you start skydiving?
TAndrews replied to GoRdOn8619's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I started skydiving at 39 I am currently 43. Money and time coordination issues have kept my jump numbers low. But I just sold my motorcycle, instant jump money on a monthly basis! My son just hit me up to let him make a jump, He's 15. -
I'm not sure if I will make it out there again this year. I am going to try to do some jumping locally at wes-tex skysports on laborday weekend but if that falls through I will probably be making the trip. I just sold my motorcycle so hopefully that will = more jump money. I did a couple of jumps at CAPC in Arkansas during vacation. It's good to hear from you guys!

Texas skydiving center is a great place to jump, it's a 182 dropzone with plenty of landing area. I drove 9 hours to do my AFF training there. They have great group of regulars and instructors! They will go way out of their way to accomodate you. Blue Skys!

Try Memphis, Tennessee after all the home of the blues (Beal Street) can't be that bad and they have a good party district. -
