  1. I'd say you've gotten to comfortable with the bike and it probably will bite you! My vote would depend on how far you live from the dropzone or how far you live from a field you could use as a landing strip. Have you thought of trying powered paragliding, You know the back pack fan thing? I have and they are fun too.
  2. I'm with you Chuck those new style are the ugliest things ever put on a car!
  3. I'm at a point in my life where I'm in the same money situation. Only my kids are starting college. Enjoy the family, do everything you can with your kids they will be gone in a flash! I usually try to talk my wife into letting me take some money out of our tax refund, I jump until the money's gone. Then I'm done until I can find another source of money, like selling something.
  4. Get ready for the most exciting thing you have ever tried. It's hard to describe what it feels like, you just have to experience it! It will feel like it went by in a flash, then you will start remembering differtent things that were going on during the dive. The video is well worth the extra money I've wached mine hundreds of times.
  5. Speaking from experience. The worst thing you can say to a cop is "you can't do that!" The reply is alway's "Oh Yeah" watch me.
  6. I'll be in Arkansas in 2 weeks (vacation). I'll contact you when I get back. Hell, I drove all the way from Presidio, Tx to Lexington, Tx just to do my AFF. By the way my ride is an ACE.
  7. Flitesuit, defenitey rocks!!! When mine arrived it needed a minor adjustment, I gave them a call returned it and got it back in a week and the workmanship is excellent!!
  8. 39, I made a tandem in 2001 and swore I would never do it again. The next year I couldn't wait I did 3 aff jumps and 2 years later I did 18 jumps in 6 days. Now I have an A license and my own gear, Who'da thunk it!!
  9. That sounds just too cool. I will be jumping at CAPC on June 18. You're definitely going to have a great Summer!!!
  10. Oh and one more thing, If it's your first bike always buy used. That way when you dump it the cost isn't as high.
  11. I have personally owned approximately 10 motorcycles. The size would depend on the type of bike you plan to buy. If you are looking to get a crotch-rocket I would recomend the 600cc range, because these bikes are capable of astronnomical speeds. If you are looking at a street and trail (enduro) bike look in the 650cc range. Anything else don't buy less than 750cc or you will never be happy!
  12. Being a newbie myself, I recommend asking your instructors. In Florida there will be plenty of places that have appropriate used gear. If you find a rig that is forgiving but is able to accomodate a one to two size decrease in canopy size, you can be ready to downsize when the time is appropriate. This will = a huge savings. I/E more money to jump
  13. I may be old and out dated, but it seems to me that if someone is lucky enough to be seeing them in person they should be tooo busy to care what they look like.
  14. We have some special teams mainly rescue teams that wear BDU's, but for the most part we use the standard uniform for everything. As a former Police Officer, I agree police officers never get the credit they deserve!
  15. Good thing i don't need to see the pics, as I am wearing a BP uniform
  16. There are different types of visitor permits, B-1 or B-2. A B-1 is for business visitors and a B-2 is for pleasure visitors, both have time limits of 6 months.
  17. You are absolutely right the term reasonable does apply as with every case.
  18. In order for the self defense rule to apply, he must have fear of imminent bodily injury and or death to himself or a third party. The fact the he is on anti depressant medication precludes him from legally owning a firearm. Border Patrol Agents do not wear BDU's in the course of their routine duties. The paper failed to mention if he was a member of one of the controversial groups currently at the border. The fact that he is not currently active duty military makes all of his previous service irrelevant to the case at hand. And no the military has no jurisdiction in regard to immigration laws.
  19. I'm going this weekend April 16, to work on those numbers.
  20. I did my AFF training and most of my jumps at Austin Skydiving Center AKA Texas Skydive Center. They have a good program a great crew and plenty of room if you wind up making an off-field landing
  21. Hello, everyone I've been reading the forums awhile and finally decided it was time to jion in. I finally finished getting my A license Last year. I did A few jumps a couple of years earlier but finally saved enough money and did 18 jumps in 6 days to get it.
