You should probably stick to your DZ`s policy Bergen. Unless you are using some strange student canopies spending thousands of feet to open. In that case you should get new student canopies. There is a ten second window from 2000 feet to 1000 feet in freefall, giving anyone heeps of time to jump, pull and cutaway if needed. When it comes to staticlines I would just get them to bail out as fast as possible, but we use the method mentioned by riggerrob where all students are hooked up prior to takeoff. It is an emergency and time is of essence. An alternative(if student is hooked up) is to pull the students cutawayhandle prior to exit which would give them an RSL deployed reserve and no danger of two canopies out. But do not think i would recommend it. Better to have two canopies then no canopy.

Im doing lots of tandems from a C-182 and would like to see videomaterial from others on climbing out and/or exiting that specific airplane. Is there anyone out there?

A sidespinning student with no booties is really bad enough. Would not enjoy seeing one where the addition of booties made it even worse.

We are a small skydiving club located at Bergen Airport, Flesland. We have more than 40 years of experience. We have our own plane, a Cessna 182 called Malvin. We jump every weekend if the weather allows it, saturday from 9AM and sunday from 12AM. In the summer Skydive Voss is active and the major part of jumping is done there. -
Thanks for the answer to my question. I would still feel a lot better with the possibility to pull reserve with my right hand. Hmmm... Have to decide for either sky-hook or crystal ball.

Crystal ball is the right hand reserve handle mounted on the RSL. It is for easy access to reserve handle in the case of a student grabbing your left arm(or in case of injurie on left arm) used on tandems.

Does anyone know the reason for why skyhook and crystal ball is not compatible on a sigma?
