  4. In my (admittedly incomplete) research, I haven't even seen a canopy bigger than a 310, is there one? I'd started to figure that a slightly higher wingload was just going to be something I'd have to put up with if I wanted to jump. cavete terrae.
  5. It appears after researching on my own and discussing with several experienced jumpers that my best bet for a canopy is probably going to be 310 sqft ±1 size. Given that a canopy of this size is not lacking in footprint, what are some things to consider when looking at jump locations? Specifically, does it serve to effectively rule out some kinds of jumps due to the size of the canopy and the implications of, say, going between power lines, light poles, or whatever? cavete terrae.

    Video help?

Hey, I gave you the address for the full version ages ago! I took it down because I figured you had it by now. I'll reupload it today :) EDIT: I guess that's not entirely true, I won't be reuploading the full version today, because the only copy I had was on my "Media backup drive", which died a couple of months ago. I can extract it from the smaller version you have though, I'll do that today. cavete terrae.
  9. Welllll in terms of a driven ball, he's correct. I was the captain of my uni's soccer team, and whenever I'd be kicking into the wind, I'd do a drop kick instead of a punt. It doesn't give my forwards as much time to set up for the ball, but it actually gets to them into a headwind. That having been said, I haven't swooped a soccer ball yet, so I can't promise it's an apt analogy. cavete terrae.
  10. On my second Precision main. Love the canopy (Fusion 190, previous was a Fusion 210), and can't beat the customer service. I'll hopefully be going to a Nitron 170 after this, but that's quite a way off (and I'll need an non-fully tapered canopy to get used to a 170 first) cavete terrae.
  11. When I went to Eloy for the holiday boogie in '05, I could afford the jump tickets and the team room. Didn't really have money for food. So I stole 30 each of the single serve peanut butter and the single serve jelly out of the cafeteria at school, along with a knife, then bought a couple loaves of bread once I got to Eloy. Went out for dinner three times I think, had 1 cheeseburger at the DZ.... and a shitload of sandwiches and water. cavete terrae.
  12. I've been watching a lot of swoop videos, and I'm seeing a lot of guys doing what appears to be a fast toggle stroke after they get off the rear risers. What's the purpose of this? cavete terrae.
  13. Thinking like that certainly helps a lot. cavete terrae.
  14. I'm not going to vote for him JUST because he's a stealth Libertarian - I want to see his platform, first. I know enough about him in terms of what he's voted for and against to be able to vote for him over anyone else I'm currently aware of. In addition, his views in the past have been quite similar when compared to mine. cavete terrae.
  15. Yeah, if he does, he's got my vote. cavete terrae.
  16. Before I even clicked, I decided that if it wasn't a 118 I was going to ignore you for the rest of eternity. Well done. I, for one, would drown puppies and punch babies for one. cavete terrae.
  17. I'd love to see a Libertarian get elected, but since most of the American public are roughly equivalent to a sheep with Down's syndrome in terms of individual thought and intellect, I'm not holding my breath. cavete terrae.
  18. If Hillary gets elected I will give serious consideration to renouncing my citizenship. I don't know enough about the others to pass any sort of judgment though. cavete terrae.
  19. I've never had it, and I'm not sure I can ever bring myself to. cavete terrae.
  20. Oh, that'd be just great. More incompetence at every airport backed by a government who has no idea what they're doing. Anyone with an IQ higher than a fucking food processor can get a weapon on a plane. cavete terrae.
  21. I think I usually use sixteen for that joke, but yeah He's insane, and thus, a great inspiration sometimes cavete terrae.
  22. ... at my dad's, finishing off a 2 litre bottle of soda... I upend it to finish it off, and he appears from NOWHERE, and squeezes the bottle whilst I'm drinking the last bit, causing what could best be described as a esophageal overpressure situation, resulting in a high-velocity stream of lemon soda out of my nose, landing on the couch, carpet, and myself. Let this be a lesson: Never, ever let an evil person out of your sight when you're drinking out of a bottle of soda. cavete terrae.

I was into that back in the mid-late nineties when I was living in Sydney, had a lot of good times. Had a couple scares, too... there's a very very very large tunnel system under the city that we managed to get lost in for a few hours, it was interesting. cavete terrae.
  25. No, I don't. It was in the high 80°s (F, obviously) today, even with the rain. Should make it into the 90s tomorrow, but stormy so no jumping. cavete terrae.
