2 Dropzones in MO need your help!!!
MikeWright replied to Superfletch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Someone else's thread? You mean Gary's thread? It was his thread after his first post, (which was a nice one), then he started his usual Skydive Missouri bashing on his second post. Search his name in these forums. He practically makes a career out of bashing Skydive Missouri. He can't help himself. And he is representing a dropzone that has had numerous accidents and fatalities. Look them up. Search in these forums for Freefall Express. If you want to know the truth, I challenge you to call Skydive Missouri and get their side to this story. You are reading only one side. (oh, by the way, you won't find them at skydivemissouri.com. That has been stolen.) -

That's my point. You can't do much of anything with it. Freefall Express was using a web site at skydivemissouri.com to advertise skydiving. And they wonder why they got sued. -

Gary, you don't need to own or represent either of those dropzones to answer the question above. All you need to do is to think for your self and answer the question publicly. Once again: freefallexpress.org is available. How about Skydive Missouri registering that and using it (stealing the Freefall Express identity). Is that OK with you? -

PennyLynn, thank you for your post. I wish Gary was as forthright. Although he wants to divert attention away from the theft of the domain name skydivemissouri.com, (and refuses to answer my questions in public because his answers support that theft), that is actually one of the main reasons that Freefall Express is in the position it is in, and the reason that skydiving is now threatened at the Mt. Vernon, Missouri airport. If the city of Mt. Vernon has given preferential treatment to thieves, then it might be expected that they would be sued. Oh, well, time will tell. Signing out. -

Just to let you all know, Gary contacted by personal message to tell me some things that I guess he is afraid to post, for fear of being thought of as supporting theft I suppose, but I'll let him repeat those statements in a post. (Hint- He answered one of my questions in an earlier post.) I'm done, at least until the next thread where I see him bashing Skydive Missouri. -

Dave, if you want to make a point, you are going to need to explain it better to people who are not as smart as you about trademark law. You are going to need to tell them that because Freefall Express registered the domain name skydivemissouri.com before Skydive Missouri was registered as a Service Mark, that Freefall Express can steal it. Right? That's no reason to bring a lawsuit, right? Now I know how sacex250 feels. -

freefallexpress.org is available. That would be an even BETTER investment for ANY dropzone in the world. How about Skydive Missouri registering that and using it. Is that OK with you? Actually Gary, if you weren't in denial about the realities of trademark law, you would know that skydivemissouri.com is useful only to Skydive Missouri, or to anyone stupid enough to try to trick the public into thinking their web site belonged to Skydive Missouri, and then get sued over it. -

Gary, is this related to one of those lawsuits that you say is not going anywhere? The real Skydive Missouri is using www.skydivemissouri.org, which is not the best domain name to use. www.skydivemissouri.com domain would be much better, but that does not seem to be available. A lookup at GoDaddy produced the following: Registrant: BRYAN WOLFORD Missouri 65714 United States Domain Name: SKYDIVEMISSOURI.COM Created on: 09-Jul-99 Expires on: 09-Jul-15 Last Updated on: 19-Jul-06 Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. Someone should contact him to ask him why he has a domain name registered using his competitor's name, expecially when his competitor's name is a registered Service Mark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office: Word Mark,SKYDIVE MISSOURI Goods and Services,IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Education services, namely, providing classes, seminars and workshops in the field of skydiving. FIRST USE:19940819. Han Disclaimer,NO CLAIM IS MADE TO THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO USE "SKYDIVE" APART FROM THE MARK AS SHOWN Type of Mark,SERVICE MARK Register,PRINCIPAL-2(F) Live/Dead Indicator,LIVE Gary, is this related to one of those lawsuits that you say is not going anywhere? If it hasn't gone anywhere yet, I think it eventually will, because evidence seems to indicate that Freefall Express has stolen Skydive Missouri's name! Are they going to put a web site there hoping to divert business from Skydive Missouri? Maybe things like this are the reason that sometimes skydivers sue skydivers, and for good reason.
