Self explanatory! Keep typing! (Rolling eyes and think to self. More people should enroll in local English college course or community education class.) I couldn't agree more , i'm sure you'll find a choice of stellar programs in your area. Tell me though , do you and skyjack71 trade places every week ? Good snitch/Bad snitch kinda thing ? She is actually making some sense today , while you ...well..read back your posts.
-
It means what it says , i apologise if you dont have the strongest grasp of the english lanquage but as you say , its the written word.

What brought that on ? My comment is that's twice a new member suggested closing the thread , did i say i agreed with those posters ? Seems to me those with a dog in the race are getting jumpy.
-
It occurs to me that's twice in under a week a new member has suggested shutting down this thread ..ie..stop posting. I think perhaps you DZ.com posters have more than one person concerned in how you go about showing a suspect could not have been the one.
-
I'd be interested to know who if anyone performed the lie detector test,i'd bet it wasn't the feds or even LEO.I'm not even sure they use them anymore as they are not admissable in court.
-
Is this why FBI agent Carr spent so much time here working with skydivers and others ? Without question it helped.I think you are talking out your hat tacoman but please,do carry on. You've went from all other suspects have been ruled out to almost all others ruled out in the space of a few hours , there isnt that many to begin with.

Thanks Jerry , i'm actually reading back in the 700's on the suggestion of EVickiW as Id asked about Mel. I have to say chucking 200k and the plates into a river would give most anyone a grudge and that stopped me in my tracks. That's a huge coincidence , a real showstopper.A couple of the pictures and two in particular are eyeopeners, can't help but like ol'Mel as a possible and no mistake.

Would it surprise you that I knew how to reach Tina for yrs! I had her contact information for yrs - as early as 2003, but it was much easier to pretend I had NO knowledge of her whereabouts or exactly what is happening in her world right now would have happened back then. I have more compassion for those who have been harmed by the media because I know who it affects you life and your relationships. I spoke with Tina many yrs ago and that one short conversation was all I needed to know she needed NO intrusions into her life. She called me out of consideration for what I was going thru and I have never forgot it. This is when "He was a very Sad Man" came to be. Not thru the FBI but thru a conversation between Tina and I. An expression Agent Carr included into the FBI site, but as far as I know I am the only person she ever said this to. Outside of the above the rest of the short and sweet conversation is very private. It was easier for me to lie about knowing where Tina was - that way people were NOT badgering me for the information. I do not have the stomach to confront individuals I feel have been harmed by this whole Cooper thing - because I also have been harm (be it Duane was Cooper or not). His telling me he was Dan Coooper and all of the other stuff I didn't need to know. Perhaps it was because I did NOT question him about his past. Yesterday was dead and gone. I wish I had listened more to what he was telling me. I wish that those last 4 yrs I had let him open up to me - but, I didn't want to know. What he did tell me was scary - maybe it was a self defense mechanism with in me that just didn't want to know bad things about the man I loved. Maybe I felt the things he was telling me were unbelievable - I don't know. I know I closed my mind because what I did learn and what I did know scared the hell out of me. Even my Uncle who met Duane told the family back home - "Jo is married to Mafia" . I never knew of this until Duane had died, but my Uncle heard something or saw something in Duane that only his yrs of experience in the military could sense. Duane and I had picked them up at the airport for my parents 50th anniversary. I can't remember what my uncle and Duane talked about - I only know what was said in the car on the 30 mile ride to my parents home. People in glass houses etc

He was partial to stealing wallets which for me explains the alternate ID cards,a pioneer in identity theft but only as a by product of petty thieving.

If Mr B is a writer the fact he doesn't even get his quotes right on a messageboard speaks volumes.I won't be a buying Mr B.

The FBI may not know where he landed, but they have a reasonable idea on where he exited the plane, and so did the crew, as well as Paul Sortum from NWA and his team. I'm just as mystified as everyone else about HOW the money ended up on Tina Bar. However, I CAN think of a good reason why the hijacker (if he did) might return and do a plant of some of the money. Imagine you are Cooper for a moment. Maybe it's been a few years since the hijacking and you haven't been caught...yet. Still, every time you pick up the newspaper or turn on the TV (well, not EVERY time, but a lot) there is something else about the continuing, dogged, hunt for the hijacker. Maybe you start to get a little nervous. After a few years of wondering who is at the door every time someone knocks (maybe THIS time it's the guys in the suits with the guns and a warrant) you get tired of it. Maybe it's time to do something to try and throw off the pursuit, make the FBI back off a bit. And if Cooper planted the money to do this, he succeeded, because it was after Tina Bar that the FBI started saying they thought he was dead. There is also no telling how long before the money was discovered that it actually ended up in the spot where it was found. The dredging does offer a clue on this, though. You would have to ask someone else how that relates, though. I never believed the 'washed down the river' theory only because if the money scattered in the river far away, or a few bundles were tossed into the river, that it is unlikely that three bundles would end up in the same spot. The place where the money was found is quite a ways from Cooper's probable jump point. No I didnt , do try to get it right Mr B

Jo, Even if you pegged me correctly as a troll living under a bridge, trolls know that people don't throw good money (and paper bills at that) into the river. You do NOT explain how the money got to Tina's Bar. In fact, I believe you have previously stated that you weren't sure that there was even money in the paper sack that Duane allegedly threw into the river. And why throw money into the river years and years after the hijacking and when the FBI was at a complete loss as to even where the hijacker landed? I think you know you won't get answer to a sensible question while demands for documented answers to impossible questions are put forth. It was said Weber only used those glasses for reading , how come he has them on in every pic ? That's not how users of reading glasses use them at all. Ive asked if Duane even was a cigarette smoker which i could actually believe but i havnt seen him holding a cig in several informal pictures. Smokers of the time period often had decent lighters , zippos , calibri's , dunhill ,ronson , being a thief he probably had a good one , where is it and why was it not mentioned or tested as it had to have been a rich source of touch dna. We don't get answers to questions like that , just more impossible demands of the fbi. I asked why was Mrs Weber quoted in 2000 as saying Duane very rarely talked of his past life yet here on DZ.com she has him a right chatterbox from day 1. Lack of answers is often an answer in itself i suppose.

The Dan Cooper comics component to the DBC story is amazing. Snowmman engineered a parasite that has become fully integrated into the legend and lore. If you didn't read Dan Cooper comics you can't be DB Cooper. Marla sure thought so. The fact that it was featured on the FBI website is a tribute to Snow. Jo is too clever to fall for the trap, but Marla wasn't and to some, it was a sure fire indicator that he story was concocted, highly enhanced in hindsight or imagined. Jo has associated Duane with smoke jumpers, Boeing people, aircraft mechanics, etc, but to her credit there are no Dan Cooper comics in the Duane=DBC story. Even KC for a while had an alleged exposure to Dan Cooper comics at the NWA base at Shemya. There are other unproven and parasitic parts of the Cooper legend such as his having an altimeter or examining the packing cards, but none have the legs of the comic story. On another subject I've spent time trying to figure out what organism made the holes in the Tena Bar money. I haven't found an answer but aquatic organisms seem to fit more than dry land ones. 377 14 months to live We heard that a lot in this and indeed other threads. This first appeared in a letter to the newspapers in Dec 1971. There's the Dan Cooper comic moment for the previous claimants.

I really like Smokin99's reply and second it. We have a neighborhood here. Others look at us and say some of you can do better. You don't have to live around crazies and homeless people. There is a nice gated community over at Google or Yahoo that is so much cleaner. This forum has one big advantage in that it's part of a skydiving website. Many jumpers who are not regular posters do read it and jump in once in a while to add valuable historical or technical info. Larry Carr says the case is basically a bank robbery. To others it's basically a skydive. Everybody has their own perspective. I like it here. It's home. It's family. People threaten to leave all the time, but they come back. It's family to them too, they just don't realize it. 377 Great reply 377 , i totally agree and that's how a forum should be. I'd never have made a tandem jump had i not been to this web site.My original "want to do" was go up in a hot air balloon but that changed after reading other threads here. I'm not with L.Carr on it was basically just a bank job , it's all about the jump. He knew that jump was imminent and i don't believe for a minute he had not jumped before.People say he left the best parachute behind , i disagree. I think it's already been pointed out his choice allowed him to free fall for as long as he wanted which was important. It's like Earl Cossey said "if he managed that hard pull,he landed" What's confusing is the training parachute , everybody involved said it would be instantly recoqnisable to any jumper as a training aid yet the guy supplying it didn't cotten on to it nor did anyone else apparantly.I don't think anyone can really say without doubt it was just a training aid.I don't think we got a lot of truth concerning the parachutes , Cooper said no to military parachutes from McCord which made people think he was a sports jumper yet he selected the military chute over the primo sports chute.Maybe it was to deflect the fact that he knew very well how to use military parachutes that he said no to McCord.Nothing much about the parachutes makes sense , that's why i think there is misinformation there.

Thank you Low Pull1 , that wasn't what i'd found but it does go some way to show it wasn't just bourbon , the drink ordered if true was unique enough to catch my attention.I'd like to see it somewhere else mentioned and am reading Sluggos site with much interest.Well done Sluggo , that's what i call information.I didn't see this drink mentioned there in detail but it might be there.i'll keep looking.
