I looked through the transcripts at Sluggo's site but never noticed anything redacted. Did I miss something? This just in: No DNA Match To Purported D.B. Cooper Hijacking Suspect http://news.opb.org/article/niece_no_dna_match_to_purported_d.b._cooper_hijacking_suspect/ Thanks for posting this - quote below: "The DNA that they were able to extract from my uncle L.D. (Cooper)'s daughter, who was born after the fact, did not match the partial sample of DNA that they have in their files," Cooper says. But neither Ms. Cooper nor the FBI considers this outcome definitive one way or the other. In Seattle, FBI agent Fred Gutt explains the DNA on file comes from a necktie the hijacker left behind. Gutt says "it's not a very good sample" and might not even belong to the hijacker necessarily. " G Jones Her story has some pretty wide gaps , leaps of faith ideas. If they really did say "all we need to do is go find the money" it's more likely they knew about the hijack and thought what most were thinking. To think a search underway by police would put them off searching is debateable , it was thanksgiving so the police wont be hard on hunters and might even welcome additional eyes , if indeed they ever did come across police. It will be interesting over time how the holes in this story fill up as if by magic.

That's pretty much my take on the LD Cooper story G Jones , the oddest thing was my local news reported it last night as fact with a smile.
-
Thank you Mr B , credability restored.

Not true. Although Agent Himmelsbach differs, Tina Mucklow has been quoted as saying the hijacker was polite to her and never made threats to her personally, except the general one at the start about having a bomb. About the only time he got mad was during the FBI fueling delay trickery they tried pulling on him while on the ground in Seattle. Don't quote me exactly, but I think the hijacker said, "Let's get this show on the road!" or something like that. I have another comment regarding Bruce Smith. In one voice he says he has concerns about Tina. But on the other hand, he posts up public pictures of her on the internet. If he were REALLY concerned about her safety, he would NOT have done that just to draw some cheap views to his website. The better idea would have been to keep the pictures private and share them only with people he trusted. One reason is because they haven't solved the case yet, Bruce. From Tina's view, the hijacker (or his family members) could still be out there, and there IS a standing Federal warrant against him...and Tina is the best still-living eyewitness, other than Flo Schaffner. If the hijacker were still alive...he knows this too. Think about THAT, Mr. I'm-a-Responsible-Journalist. I also noticed that Galen Cook must be getting a little nervous about his Loose Cannon Friend. There's a comment on that article from the Mountain News where Cook advises Bruce not to try and contact Mucklow again. (*laughs*) Good advice. Yeah, better tighten up the leash there. You know, that sort of counts as legal advice. Maybe Cook should send Smith a bill for services. You don't consider showing her a bomb aboard an aircraft along with whatever he said a threat of deadly harm ? I think i like this post , you say NOT TRUE!! and add but the FBI say different...lol...gee i wonder who to believe.

I havnt attacked you nor disrespected you as you have with me. I did not threaten you , merely words to the wise , you throw these names about like confetti none of which have anything remotely to do with DB Cooper.I'll take heed to Quades earlier post about simply not feeding you replys.I clearly can see where the idea you are a conspiracy theorist comes from.
-
No , it doesnt surprise me (your comments concerning Tina M) ive read enough to know about your alledged conversations. It is also true you very much covet a meeting which is declined by TM , which was my point. I doubt anyone cares about the mafia or the cia or mlk or any other organisation brought in to the conversation by yourself , but life experience tells me one must be wary of bandying those agencies names about.
-
I don't think it needed repeating , but thats just me. It's clear what was meant that DB Cooper threatened to kill her.
-
Id have to agree Mr B , having looked at the pics it is clear TM was unaware any pics were being taken as Orange suggested. It is indeed paparazzi style.
-
"She is probably trying to find out who you are, right now so she can 'neutralise' you. " All anyone need do is ask , but of course it is the internet and we know the old saying.

Much like ExBlue i have no dog in this race , im not LEO or the Media nor anyones alt as Skyjack71 suggests. However i have been on the internet long enough to see paranoia where it exists among overusers of these forums.I do not have a relation to put forward as DBC and have no desire to "steal" her thunder. The thread is titled DB Cooper , not Duane Weber so i try to post accordingly , Skyjack71 doesnt like that because i don't consider Weber a suspect.
-
As i said , i already knew the answer , i read that thread long ago and find it very eyeopening , even more so today. In one post there you talk about a mouse and how tina seen him off with the word of god etc .. and yet you lambast anyone who dares mention tina and all the while covet a meeting with her yourself.

I came to the thread looking for information about the possibilites of the survival of the jump and to contact OLD Timers to see if any one remembered the man I knew as my husband who confessed to the crime. I still have never seen a parachute in person. I was looking to find out what the items Duane had in his possession could be as the man I sold them to at a garage sale after Duane died told me they were parts for a parachute. The thread evolved from that simple exploration and I will say the DZ member have been very courteous and helpful with that. What is happening now - is media is in the thread and raping it for anything they can acquire...and how it will be use only one can guess. You came to this thread or you created the initial thread ? Lets keep it correct please , now..you came here for information , did you expect to pay the good people here at DZ.com for that information or was it given freely ? I know the answers to these questions so please refrain from suggesting others are doing something you have been doing for years.
-
The question was to Skyjack71 , if you feel you can answer for her then by all means , what brought her here to this or any other forum/messageboard she frequents ?
-
"You are looking for FREE information acquired at the expense of other" Is that not exactly what brought you here ? A yes or no please will suffice , no need for lengthy diatribes we've all seen and dismissed before, thanks.
-
You didnt answer the question , how many times in total was Duane married ? Not in any time frame , the total number please. Again you say Duane was not a reader of books , but he did read the DB Cooper book or books. By your insults i gather your cage has been rattled , i intended no such thing but let the chips fall where they may.

My first post on this forum was November 7. 2010. DB Cooper forum page 771. So to re-hash the common clothing of the decade, I thought I would show the attire worn by my father in the Spring of 1971. Interesting picture EVickiW , sunglasses , tie , suit , widows peak , briefcase..get him on the DB Cooper list
-
With all due respect , are you saying Duane never lied ? He just never spoke about it... ok. I read an interview last night from 2000 with you , in that you say Duane never ever talked about his past. Here at DZ you have him singing like a bird since the late 70's
-
The tie is vaguely interesting but ive always assumed it was just part of the disguise (smart businessman) I noticed in one of Mr B's links last night a picture showing somebody emulating Cooper wearing a hat. That is of interest as ive only ever seen once in any description other than that picture Cooper had a hat.I believe it was described as a Hombolt.

377 , i know in past posts here there was much debate on the parachute , i read a recent article that had alledgedly quoted Cossey as the parachute being questioned was an NB8 packed in an NB6 container. This Cossey apparantly said would result in a 'hard pull" speculataing the user would require two hands to pull , if this is accurate and ive no reason to think it isnt, would that have made things any different given the circumstances of the jump ?, if Cooper had little jump experience

Stop the cock and bull! I was married to the man for 17 yrs. How many times he was married prior to 1971 is not relevant. It's not anything but seeking the truth , something you are not always keen to hear , so it was 5 times. My point being he had ample time for bookreading before you came on the scene in 1978. Also i did not say or ask how many times prior to 1971 , i just asked if it was 5 in total.I believe it is relevent , in those previous marriages is there one other person that at any point supported the idea that Duane was Cooper ? No disrespect intended as i realise some of those ex wifes are possibly deceased.
-
Good points 377 and ExBlue , Exblue i jumped aboard the no jump scene too quickly without considering something caused that aftstair to bounce. It's a solid point. 377 , the book or books Duane had read , i agree if he were Cooper he would have no need of a book nor would he want that book anywhere around. If he were or somebody was planning a Duane Weber Legacy "One last Con" "The big one" then Yes , the book or books were vital. In looking for details on this incident one does come across other forums where there is a Mrs Cooper character and many many lengthy posts,i see some of the names i was somewhat accused of being there so i'm assuming i can guess who is Mrs Cooper there. If Duane were married 5 times or even just twice is it not then fair to suggest the wife in 1971 is the real Mrs Cooper if in fact Duane had done it which seems highly unlikely. Regardless i agree with the thought it doesnt matter what anyone says or proves , he will always be DB Cooper to at least one person. Technology has come leaps and bounds since the time of Duanes passing and the following events,i mean the available research materials to the entire planet, that couldnt be anticipated nor planned for.
-
It would be fair to say on the strength of that book and possibly any earlier ones unknown about to yourself , he would be extremely learned on DB Cooper and flight 305. I believe Duane was married 5 times ? It isnt unreasonable to think he may have read earlier books if there were any,it seemed of interest to him.

The handwriting was not looked at by experts, but certain individuals on this thread did an excellent job of it...and from what they found - it appears the handwriting may not have been that of Weber. Duane was spinning a tale from 1978 to his death - hardly! The only book I ever saw Duane read was NorJack...while we were in Virginia....and that tattered book about smokejumping he brought home - the one with the picture of him in it. Again I had to post to correct you guys so you don't perpetuate more myths. Isnt that book mentioned there , the only book you ever seen Duane read , isnt that the be all and end all of DB Cooper books ?
-
They surely had to have took that plane apart looking just in case...one would hope. In saying that the 2 air force jets following flight 350 both were equiped with radar and seen nothing coming out of that plane. Im with you JohnnyRingo..how can we be so sure there was a jumper ...sure would explain a lot of things if there wasnt.

So Duane didnt read it .... but you did ? After alll you did check it out the library ?
