Wing Loading Restrictions? (Skydive Kansas)
kansasskydiver replied to weavermc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am very pleased to say that I met Mark this weekend (the 2.1 windloaded canopy pilot who was turned down if you don't know what started the forum) I'm happy to say that he is an incredible canopy pilot. Very cautious and as he put it "sissy" on his first jump at a new dz. That now puts to rest the doubt in my mind that anyone can or can't land a 2.1/1 windloaded canopy blue skies Chris aka Flash come visit us www.ksu.edu/ksupc -
Hey guys and gals I've got a quick question. We're planning a boogie at our DZ in June and are in the process of getting a Turbin. Generally speaking when a DZ gets an aircraft for a boogie there is a cut that the aircraft owners get. ie 1000 to ferry the plane over and then $x per load. The fuel for each load generally comes from the $x per load correct? Or would my DZ pay for the fuel per load + the $x per load to the owner? We're a college club and I haven't been part of organizing a boogie yet, so excuse the ignorance. Blue skies Flash

I jump at a single C-182 dz and make about 200-250 jumps a year. It is possible, just have to have teh dedication to watch the wind blow somedays -
Wing Loading Restrictions? (Skydive Kansas)

Ok i refrased that quote. What i meant was if you have 1400 jumps your AFF, SL, and pro and you've jumped the canopy for X number of years like this case, then you know what you're doing and there shouldn't be a reason to turn him away. Sorry about the misunderstanding -
Wing Loading Restrictions? (Skydive Kansas)

I have an answer to all of this, come to Kansas State Parachute Club instead www.ksu.edu/ksupc Skydive Kansas, well, I won't comment on what I think is going on there but it's sad to say that they actualy came from my dropzone. KSUPC is a college run dropzone and we have been seeing a lot of people coming to us from Skydive Kansas becasue they're being run off either due to wing loading issues, AAD, or just not being able to jump. They have turned into a tandem factory or something I'm not sure. For thier pig roast last year we let them use our plane for that day. I drove out there and they wouldn't let me jump because I was 2 lbs over weight. I was jumping a sabre 210 and weighed 256. I could have taken a crap and been able to jump. It happen with a couple of us. So come to KSUPC next time your in kansas $15 to 10k. Prove your jump numbers and that you have jumped the equipment before and we're usualy fine with you jumping it. (edited to add) If you have 10 jumps and are jumping an FX it's a different story Blue skies Chris "Flash" KSUPC -
Here are the places to be: Studio 54 is an awesome place. Rain in the palms is awesome (hahah crashed a private party there in July open bar and smash mouth) but the best place to go is a place called The Beach. You'll need to take a cab, not within walking distance, well from the Strato nothing really is. You can take a bus up and down the strip for like 2 bucks to get to the palms and MGM. I highly recommend the beach! also, figure out which hotels are connected via trains, it cuts down on the walking.

I got a sneak peak at the video on Sunday. It's awesome! Well worth the wait for it. Chris will be running off the videos this weekend when he goes home for Easter. He did a great job and had to balance school, work and skydiving while producing it. Thanks again Chris Collisions = Points

it's geocities, you can only have x amount of people view it a day before it shuts down, that's why people can't see it

lol we actually had 2 skydivers start dating after they were on a naked 4 way. no other explanation for them to hook up, must have liked what they saw
-
ok ok ok i give up lol. I was just posting a comment about how you get yourself into trouble when you've not intentionally doing anything. I was late to work but wasn't purposly speeding. Ends up that I was speeding anyways. Ironic is all that i'm saying. Ok i'm going back to work, you guys are meanies!!!
-
yes i know you're a mom and i myself have 2 little ones, sisters not kids of my own. (2 and 9) but i was only going 3 over the speed limit, just that i forgot about the school zone. If there were kids, trust me i would have stopped like i do for any j walker. I'm not trying to fight, i'm just upset that i lost 7 jump tickets
-
honestly i've never seen a kid in that area nor do i even know where there is a school, and i live in the area too
-
lol ok i'll change my post. I was heading to the dropzone trying to make the first load of the day and was speeding in a school zone. is that better now lol
-
hahah what kind of wee ones are in the street at 745 in the morning?
-
lol so i'm running late to work but not even paying attention, no speeding anything, just minding my own business. Driving the same way to work as I do every day. RED WHITE BLUE RED WHITE BLUE. Damnit. Yep I got a ticket. Forgot about the damn school zone that I look for every freakin day cause I know people get busted there every day. 33 in a 20 = $107 in 2 weeks. That's a lot of money for a freaking college student who only makes 500 a month and tries to skydive as well. Donations may be made to "Chris Armstrong's Pay to PoPo fund by paypaling to worldchris@aol.com Thanks hehe Blue skies Chris "Flash" Armstrong

Help Help Help! Ok first of all sorry about the cross posts. I'm putting together a study guide type thing for our students using the old SL progression and the ISP. I'm typing it up using all the information and using diagrams as well. What i'm looking for is a picture of the boxman position, like a diagram of it, or sketch drawing, something black and white as i'll be printing all these out. Anyone have one, seen one, or want to draw one for me I would be greatful! Blue skies Chris
