Possible Stolen Gear on Ebay! (Possibly Midwest area)
kansasskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I got them to send me a pictures of the reserve packing card and I know the rigger who packed it. I'll call him and see if he knows the owner -
Oh man, for a second there I thought you were telling people that they had no reason to live. But it's ok, I just realized you're just telling the short people they have no reasIon to live, which is different of course

Possible Stolen Gear on Ebay! (Possibly Midwest area)
kansasskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Was looking around on ebay and saw 2 rigs being sold from my area that look rather fishy. I check the stolen gear section and haven't seen it reported, but doesn't mean it's not. The seller is clueless as to what they are etc. Please help out if you recognize the rigs, especially from the KS, NE, IA or OK area http://cgi.ebay.com/JAVELIN-ODYSSEY-SKYDIVING-PARACHUTE-RIG-HARNESS-NR_W0QQitemZ7195220915QQcategoryZ106980QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/JAVELIN-ODYSSEY-SKYDIVING-PARACHUTE-RIG-HARNESS-NR_W0QQitemZ7195213169QQcategoryZ106980QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem -

Need help - Article about how parachutes work
kansasskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I'm kind of in a time crunch but wondering if anyone has or knows of a link or article or anything else for that matter that has a good description of the dynamics of ram air parachutes and how they work, from lift to stalls etc etc etc. I've found bits and pieces that relate, but nothing specific to ram air canopies. I'm not being lazy, just really asking if anyone can help me out while I have to work on other things Thanks in advance -

Brian Germain Interview on SkydiveRadio.com
kansasskydiver replied to BrianSGermain's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Great interview and discussion. I'm teaching a basic basic canopy course tomorrow night to some beginner skydivers and have made it a requirement to listen to your interview before coming to the class tomorrow night. Good stuff man as usual -

I've been away from the computer the last couple days and just heard the news from a friend. I first met Waldo at Couch Freaks years ago, still a student, but was easy to talk to and gave me a lot of advice. As a year passed and then another, I became more interested in freeflying and tubes. I gave him a call and he spent a good hour or more talking about the tubes he'd made, how to make them properly, advice, what to do and not to do and offerred to send me one that he had made already. Just last year we met up again at freaks as usual in his bus, he lent our club some of his tool to fix our packing tent and also gave us the inspiration to buy and refurbish a school bus of our own. Then once again last September I ran into him in Orange, suprised to see him there as well as he was to see me out east. We bs'ed and sat around and he invivted us to his float party the next weekend. A great guy, all around, open heart friendly and never selfish. He spent hours helping myself and others. He has left us with very large shoes to fill on this earth. Blue skies brother

Hey everyone: It's been a LONG time since I've been on DZ.com but I just wanted to check up on everyone and friends in FL. My grandpa is in Naples and too damn stubborn to leave. He's not within the storm surge he says and his area isn't close to the shore but still, he's 94 and just wants to stay I wish you all the best, Rocky, Marc and Alyssa and everyone else I've met and know in FL. My prayers are with you all and hope this thing ride through ok. Chris

kansasskydiver replied to jimmytavino's topic in Photography and Video
I can hear mine or feel it. If i coudn't do either then I'll touch it and fire a shot to make sure it's on. I like being able to know it's shooting before exit -
