  2. You rock Jimmy! Can't wait to see the video, and the footage of me having to talk myself into exiting a couple of times on the ramp bwahaha. Sweet time!
  3. Sucks don't it? It happens in more places than you think. I worked in a wharehouse in Brazil for .88 cents an hour with no fans and no ac when I was 12... I know what it's like So figure the typical work day is 9 hours and 15 mins 5 days a week all manual labor, per month is: U$145. That was when the Real was worth more than the dollar too
  4. See, the oil industry IS hurting just as bad as the consumer
  5. 11/16 NSFW lol http://www2.b3ta.com/funnelortunnel/
  6. I use them and I'm a newbie
  7. My roommate is getting in on Thursday, not sure what time but I think I heard him say he was renting a car. I'll have him chime in here and PM ya if that's the case and he can give ya a lift.
  8. Very valid point... Wasn't there a smiliar instance where a guy bought a rig off of ebay, learned how to pack somehow and then went and jumped a bridge... Though the bridge he jumped was the wrong one, the one that was high enough was a mile upstream Yeah might not be a good idea...
  9. Tom, I watched the video last night with Andrew and thought it was great! Picked up a couple things that I thought made my packing actually easier that I hadn't learned before. If you need help compressing it let either Andrew or I know, we're both kind of computer nerds when it comes to that stuff lol. Though as I said, great video and really helped with the packing.
  10. I don't know man but that tower that you had yesterday that I tripped over, almost landed on you, then the table, then the coffee table then the futon was really dangerous hahaha. Though after watching the video, I'm opting for 12 instead of 8 now, just 12 is an odd number to build clip art stuff with we found haha
  11. Hahaha we're watching tv and the MTV show Parental Control just had a date go to the tunnel in Perris. I don't know how the show ends but if she doesn't get picked, anyone got her number I can havev
  12. Dec 27-Jan 1st in Chicago... Think about it Don't think there will be much jumping going on lol
  13. Also for those who are coming and just CAN'T keep off dz.com we have wireless internet available at the airport.
  14. Naples to Tampa is much more than a hour drive...Even to Sarasota is 115miles or so. I visit Naples often and drive up to Z-hills to skydive, and it's never been an hour drive to Tampa
  15. Wow... You reall nailed that one RIGHT on the head. ***cough cough bullsh*t cough cough***
  16. Ok I'd like to speak on Andrew's behalf before this gets taking any more out of context and turns into a bit bitch fest. First off, he's not lazy in any way shape or form, so we can cut that out of the post already. He pursued his riggers ticket to help better understand gear, canopies and packing. Is it considered lazy to own every BASE video you can get your hand on, download every BASE video from skydivingmovies.com, view them and see if they were slider up, down, how the toggles were set, how long of a dealy, head low, head high, shoulder dropped, offer heading etc????? Before many of you made your first jump, did you spend every day at the local pool during the summer practicing exits off the diving boards for an hour practicing stable exits? Pictures hang on his walls of the brdige and landing area for NRGB, he knows how each off heading opening will effect him off the bridge, how long of a delay, where he'll land etc. He's dedicated all his landings to practicing approaches and on large f111 canopies instead of zp. He's printed out BASEwiki and read everything else he can get his hands on about BASE jumping. His reason for this post was to ask for MORE advice, not to be dogged by those he looked up to as his mentors. I understand how the community is, there are lots of people who want to jump who shouldn't or that could damage the repuation of the sport, but before hounding the poor kid and calling him lazy because he was actually ASKING for advice as to other ways he could get into the sport and finding humor in that Kansas was a flat state, not that there wasn't jumping in Kansas. That's my rant, I've known him since he was a student, I was his instructor, I took him out of the plane a number of times, trained him in the tunnel, in the air and have watched him progress through skydiving and observed his dedication towards BASE. He's the furthest thing from lazy, he just seaks information. That is all.
  17. For all involved in this thread. I know Andrew personally and don't believe he meant any harm with his postings, he was asking questions I could not answer for him. I will speak with him personally this evening.
  18. Get you drunk... Oh wait, we do that every weekend How about we hook you up Oca! That'd be a new experienca!
  19. In the event of a malfunction, you'd have to press Ctrl-Alt-Del
  20. I haven't decided what and where I want to live yet, all will really depend on where I get a job too. As for the roommate, I have a friend from up here who's looking at moving down as well. We started looking at some places and then looking at apartment ratings and all the places we thought were really nice looking had HORRIBLE reviews, either noise, poor management or outrageous utilities. Which brings be to a question, for those of you who do live down there, what's your average electric run and then what does it run during the summer months? We plan on coming down for an extended weekend in about 2 weeks, look at some places as well as get a feel for the city. Last question, is there public transportation from the subs to downtown? Thanks again everyone
  21. Dude! NOW you're talking. I'll have a roommate to split the costs of living downtown. Places we've seen are about 1000-1200 or so.
  22. For those of you who live in Houston, any insights to the city, experience etc? I've heard it's a "dirty" city but then again I grew up in Sao Paulo which has to be one of the worst in the world. Where to live, stay away from etc? How bad is the commute into town? Is it better to live downtown than to drive into town. Things to consider: I'm single, no kids to raise, no family etc. 24 and enjoy nightlife be that clubs, theater, bars etc. Job will more than likely be within the loop. Is the warehouse district a decent place to live when looking for a loft, medical district, galleria etc? Thanks in advance
