Dangers of a newbie tunnel rat
NeonLights replied to frankyblue's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've been on some hybrid jumps that prove otherwise. It is surprising to know someone can fly HD and yet struggle to dock on the base. As fast said, maybe for someone who only freeflies in the sky.. I can see it being possible, but to progress to HD in the tunnel and fly it proficiently you must first master belly, back, sit, and transitions... So its pretty ridiculous to still suck at that point. -
Hey man, if you are in contact with your MFFI's still, talk to them. And also any experienced guys in your unit or former MFF at your DZ. They seem to understand our capabilities as a military freefaller a little better. They always told me just what you said above.. "If you can land in a field full of cactus, at night, with over 100lbs of equipment, and an oxygen mask on your face, in less than favorable weather conditions... Dont sweat a reserve ride on a sport rig."

If dude can fly proficiently HD and HU, im willing to bet my life on his belly flying. Freefly makes you a better flyer in any position, i dont care what anybody says. Its true -
Whats up with the rules on patterns at this/these DZ/DZ's? To be honest, some of the clips are really not bad... but others, im pretty surprised no one noticed and talked to him.

tonfly freefly suit is THE best. Proven with math and science. Look it up in the jump suit bible.

he currently jumps a sabre 1. OP- i have jumped both canopies and it is really going to be personal preference. alot of people on this forum make things out to be more complicated than they are. pilots are pretty docile canopies with quick recovery arc. but very responsive turns and very fun to fly. demo

I always keep a puppy in my gear bag just for kicks. i love dogs, i think everyone should bring their dog, and their friends dogs, and their families dogs.. and they should let them roam free at the dz. We could get rid of mats and such to lay on the canopies and just lay dogs on them. Raise your hand if you're with me!

It does not matter if it is full or open face. I used one with a g3 , but all that matters is if there is audible pockets. Which you may need to modify. The N3A is a little bulky with the headphone jack. As a new jumper you may want to avoid using ear buds, unless they dont hinder your ability to hear under canopy.

Awesome, thanks spot. Ill ask tomorrow. I asked yong to do it but she has never done suit alterations.

Thanks chris. I will ask around @diablopilot - shirley is a ghost. I cant find anything about her. Her old website is now asian food

Hello! I have a suit that i have already sent back for alterations once. And it still is not quite right. I dont want to send it back again due to it taking so long. I would rather have it done local and quick. The last thing i need changed should be very easy and quick for a skilled seamstress. Does anyone know of someone who i could go to? I am not interested in going to LS. I am in the perris, elsinore area... And if not, would you trust a seamstress inexperienced with jumpsuits?

I use a canopy that is too small for ny container, and i just stuff toilet paper around my dbag when i pack to fill empty space. About a roll a packjob should do the trick -
I emailed alti-2 about voice tones yesterday. From what i understood in the response email it said you can make custom and pick which ever tone you want.

Full Face Helmet vs. Googles and Why? Air is warm.
NeonLights replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Gear and Rigging
A friend of mine got kicked in the face yesterday, almost knocked his gatorz off. My teeth and nose have taken enough punishment. Full face for sure. -
How dare he. Oh and about the organizers not feeling comfortable going up. That may have something to do with organizing... They may feel comfortable jumping in those conditions, but organizing a load of people that may not can be a bad move.

I could not find anything in my search so i appologize if this was covered before. How are lines calculated? Some look very very tricky to calculate successfully. Any info would be great, just curious.
