  2. FYI, Tom Goodrick has designed a great freefall skydiver for FS-2004 flight sim. (see attachment) This is available on Avsim.com and on Flightsim.com. Search for skydiver.zip and parafoil.zip Be carefull not to over control Can be used for BASE also. Just use the slew control to go to your favorite structure. Steve My Site
  3. "I'd say the recovery arc is about 1500f at least. Also it should be possible to flare more smoothly, with the additional weight it pops right back up when you apply the flaps. " Erlend, Make sure you have "autorudder" enabled on the realism menu. This increases the turnrate. Try Half flaps instead of full flaps for the flare. Rather than increase the weight of the pilot there should be a way to reduce canopy area. You might ask Tom. Steve My Site
  4. The (.air) file can be modified if you know what you are doing to make adjustments in the flight dynamics. Tom is trying to model just the pilot without the Airfoil for realistic freefall, but because FS-2004 won't allow 2 models in 1 aircraft folder, it will be up to the user to switch to the parafoil before . (No Automatic deploy at 700' ) Steve My Site
  5. FYI, Tom Goodrick has modeled a nice 280 sq ft Parafoil with a 200# pilot for Flight Sim 2004. The flight dynamics seem very good. Stick controls only Toggle Left/Toggle Right and flaps for flare Get it Here. File is parafoil.zip Be sure to read the "Read me" file Smoke is available with the "I" key. Steve

  9. Where did STATE go as a search option? Just noticed it's missing. Must have been removed recently? Thanks, Steve PhreeZone is right. If you go to the Skydivers page there's a quick search option on the username, region and US state. The Power Search option will enable you to search on whatever you want to. I will add a few additional Quick Search options in the future.

  17. can someone please explain what it is for crying out loud?!?!? ---------------------------------------------------------- Difficult to "manage risk" doing this! Found on "google" The first kind of surfing is Elevator Surfing. This was first reported in the New York Times between 1986 and 1990. People were getting into elevator shafts, and leaping from the top of one elevator to another. Needless to say, they were practically all young males, typically aged between 5 and 12 years. Between 1984 and March 1991, there were 14 fatalities involving Elevator Surfing in and around the New York area. One older victim was an 18-year-old male student from the University of Massachusetts. The main causes of death were falls, and crush injuries.
