True but purhaps making making it manditory for students to wear a frap hat?.. But hey just my 0.02.. Just another 100 jump wonder
-
Owch! Now thats a burn and a half

Wouldn't the student catching the hard fiberglass instead of your chin in the back of the head be a bad thing?.. Potentialy knocking them out even?..

At what point do you waste a perfectly good pack job
jumpy replied to shmali's topic in Safety and Training
When I first got my own rig and started packing I was really scared but it ddin't take me long to realise that even the shitest of shit packs opens! As long as the general principle is there (however mangled), stows are ok (bag lock baaadd), and bridle routing ok then its all good -
Well Quade knows what he's talking about so we'll asume he's correct.. check out http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=863857;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread about sony software

I'd have to agree! Possibly the most un-userfriendly program I have encountered!! I really expected to get a much much better program with a camera from such a repudable company! Its a joke of a program!

Up until a while ago I guess I beleived in ghost but never really thought about it much. About 6 months ago I went on a ghost tour in Port Arthur, Tasmania (thats a penal colony in Australia from about 100-150 years ago). Some of the stuff I heard and felt iin that place was truely creepy!

My mates got a 12" iBook and it does feel a LITTLE cramped when your editing but I guess it depends on how often and for how long you'd be using it for. I dunno how much £800.00 is in Australian but hey if its a really good deal then I'd deal with the smallness

If your buying a new computer mostly for the purpose of video editing then buy a mac!! An emac for example is much much better then any windows machine http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/70803/wo/8M667DtrJ10w3F8IeeW1BOJb9FO/0.0.7.1.0.5.21.1.2.1.0.0.0.1.0

Nope. Its a mac program only made for macs. But Final Cut Pro alone is a good reason to get a mac. Its a very very very nice program! It can be complicated to use but I personaly don't think its that hard and the learning curve really isn't that long. The only problem is its rather large pricetag but i'm sure someone on here should be able to ehem.. find it for you for free

I was wondering what the difference in picture quality between SP and LP on a MiniDV camera? Is LP really worth the extra half hour? The camera's a trv22.. although I doubt that matters and the footage would be used more for school, short films etc. Thanks
-
The problem is they tried to copy Apple and there Imovie ap and only came up with a 5 minute imitation that doesn't work properly.
-
Thats exactly my philosophy.. I'm buying a trv22 tomorrow from somewere that's not the cheapest price but they offer a better warranty and every one of the numerous times i've gone to look at it the people have been very helpful.
-
My rigs almost 18.. It was born 4 months after I was born but hell it still works and its still airworthy!
-
An emac will well and truely meet your needs.. Its prettymuch the exact duplicate of the imac.. only with a smaller (15 inch) screen. Its a nice machine at a very nice price! Imovie should cover your needs but if you start getting complicated in your editing it can get a little messy. Final Cut Pro is an awesome application! And its really not that hard to get the hang of once you get into it. If you have the money for it i reckon your better off getting an emac now instead of an older mac and then a new one cos once you start playing with that old one your gonna get a new one eventually.

was just reading www.theonion.com and thought this http://www.theonion.com/3948/news1.html was particularly funny.. Thats all.. just wanted to share

Quade.. Would it not be possible to get an av cable and strip most of the plastic around the metal part of so its still just held in place.. gaffer tape it and you have a free bending av cable.. if that makes sence to you? Let me know if you don't know what i mean and i'll find an old cable do it to that and take a pic of it for you..

hmm i likes your music! Good stuff dude!
-
If you have attempted to gain permission to use the music and don't get a reply then I think thats your permission right there. I do media at school and its the same deal.. were supposed to get permision to use music but as long as we attempt to get permission it doesn't matter that you don't get a reply... although thats a little different since i'm not selling my film...

Well from what i've read on here I assume alot of you go hiking and stuff like that?... So I was wondering if anyone had any tips for food to take on a 5 day hike? I've done this kinda stuff before its just that i mostly lived on instant noodles which ain't the most interesting or tasty food in the world... Any tips would be apreciated :)

I prefer the b/w viewfinders to the colour ones i've seen. The picture looks crisper and lighting beter to judge.... Just my 0.02...
-
And you've just answered my question I was going to ask in another thread... I was wondering on your opinion of eventually mounting this camera.. Its a little shorter then say a pc105.. but a little fatter.. Having never worn a camera helmet i have no idea how comfortable/uncomfortable this camera would be on a helmet..
-
I've only used DVD burners that are built into Mac's so that's not to helpful but one thiny you may want to consider is the added time it may take.. Took about 20 minutes to burn my 3 minute movie yesterday...
