Cornholio 0 #1 September 9, 2004 For those of you that had been around the 'net for more than a few years, what are some of your favorite Internet-isms ? You know, the things people find on the Internet that catch on and you send the link to all your friends and soon everyone is talking about it or laughing about it and sharing with all their friends, etc... Please no random links - post true Internet-isms that have become popular or insanely stupid or both. Here's some of the ones I can think of off the top of my head: edit: Links are firefox friendly. Not sure about other POS browsers. AYBABTU Weeeeeee! Star Wars Kid badgerbadgerbadger Peter Pan That indian guy looking for love...can't find the link. anyone have it? What else.... ?? AggieDave 6 #9 September 9, 2004 Dancing baby wasn't the first. There were others before the baby. http://www.hampsterdance.com--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
davedlg 0 #10 September 9, 2004 I think the hampster dance started this whole craze...the badgers are pretty much a hampster dance spinoff
AggieDave 6 #11 September 9, 2004 Naw, there were other "internet-isms" long before that. The problem were that nobody knew them at the time, since only a small percentage of the population was online at the time. A lot of those folks were only online through the large BBS companies that used the TRW network to connect with: Prodigy, AOL, CompuServ, etc. So a lot of the true Internet-isms are lost on a lot of folks. For instance, do you know what "foodp" means? Or how many folks connected to the old l0pht bbs and read the archives? Captain Crunch's whistle was all the delight before the 4ESS brought everything out of band. Stuff like that.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Cornholio 0 #13 September 10, 2004 Similar in that they are both FLASH. Other than that, I think they are completely different. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
